sup guys, i juss read another post with a guy introducing himself and i felt bad cuz i havent done that yet.

my name is peter from germantown, md. im 20 and bought my 1997 240sx in april. ive wanted the since i got my license but only got the chance to aquire one recently. so now im happy. right now i dont wanna do much to my car becuz im plannin to do a s14 sr20det swap in the near future. so im running bone stock. the thing i will do is adding a injen cai next week, new paint job (key marks), and a N1 exhaust by the end of summer. i figure wut da hell, i'll chill with that for now until i get the motor.

im a poor college student so i need to save up for my dream motor. well during the years ive learned quite a few things about the 240 but im here to learn and help others learn. so im glad u all are here with me and i hope to give u all the good news on the motor in the near future. peace for now, and keep it safe

welcome... you are lucky to have a S14A its a very rare ride.. be safe with it.

a comment on the mods.. if you are planning to get a SR .. you might want to save that couple hundred bucks on the injen intake and just save for the SR .. intake and exhaust can cost you upwards to $700.00 USD... that a pretty big chunk of change...

Hi, Pete. Welcome to Zilvia. I would agree if you are serious about going with a swap, ditch the intake and just save. An exhaust will work with your KA as well as an SR. But I for one would rather look stock and be slow rather than look/sound fast and be slow. Just save up for the swap. After all 700 bucks is about 1/4 the cost of what most people pay to complete the swap.

Welcome tot eh forums i also have a 97/s14a.I hope you enjoy your ride as much as the rest of us and like a few others said if you want to save for the engine get the exhaust and save dont get teh intake it is noce but you will save more for the sr.I want to make a suggestion get the n1 duel and that would be a great all around exhaust. It isa not to loud and it also helps in the power band.By built torque in the id and puting more power in the top without sacraficing any lose of bottem end power. The guy named nrcooled has the n1duel on his sr and that thing is sweet.

welcome to the forums. Wohoo another s14 owner from md. I guess we'll have to move the atlantic meets to md on a regular basis at this rate I'm from silver spring, md a 30 minute drive from germantown. I also know a guy from gaithersburg who has a 97 too. I also would say save up money for the engine, unless you can get an intake for very cheap. On the exhaust... that would prolly be your personal opinion, but N1 is the cheapest 3" exhaust u can get (and assuming you are getting sr you'd like to have that much). n1 dual sounds nice, but i don't like the looks though (MO).

p.s. what school are you going to?

Welcome....

But is it just me, or does EVERY new member have "sr20" in their name?

Nah blink0r ur rhye its been quite a few noobs wid sr20 in there names. But welcome bigs14sr20det, these guys are great bunch here so far from what i see. They can tell if ur real or not, i also agree wid BEISSEN for one good reason ditch the intake and exhaust approach and get a engine swap. When u think bout it u got the swap money all you need now is 3400 for ur engine... whew that looks like a hefty price but that is what http://www.srswap.com will charge you for there sr20 engine. Good luck with you car and dont do nothing too stupid, i always drool over the s14a models over the 95-96 gen....

Cool another 240 in the MD VA area. Yes there is a meet soon and it would be cool if you can attend. The SRs rule the streets around these parts so if you see a stock looking red s13 running around don't sleep. Heavythrottle just sent like 4 or 5 to the area so we run deep. Anyway good to have you aboard and hope to see you at the meet.

Hahaha that cool nrcooled it does seem alot of the sr's are in md but there are alot now comming in va i know of 2 and you know them to.But i will say this when i join the army "if i can get in"I will make the sr look like a play toy hahahahah j/k.But if i get what i want from a contract i will be set but also sorry for the ot stuff but it does seem like alot of these noob's have sr20 in there s/n.But alot of them talk about what they want but dont get it.
But i know if you set your heart on some thing then you can have it.But these guys here are great i like this chat forum alot better then the rest that i have been on such as freshally and 240sx.org.this seems to be the more mature crowd and if you say something stupid you will get flamed but things cool off as long as you are cool about it.But just don't try to act like you know everything cus if you do you will be looked as a idot"imo".
