Well I was watching Speedvision (The Speed Channel whatever it wants to be called). And they had a show that is called Hi-Rev Tuners. I will tell you now that it is sponsored by Pep Boys, so you could already imagine what is going to follow.
Anyway this is my first time watching it and the show today was about Hondas. Once they said today is a special Honda edition of the show I was about to turn it off, but then I just wanted to see what it is all about. Well they started off with a couple civics, some were riced out and some were not. A couple looked pretty nice and some of them were just wrong. I would get into more detail about what the cars were like but there were so many I can't remember all of them. I'll just say there were a bunch of headlight and taillight conversion, some funny looking trunk and hood mods (Suicide trunk, and a split hood). Some of the cars were pretty clean; I have to hand it to them. The show in a way is bad because of the hosts of the show. They are either brainless women with nice bodies (no offense to the females), and they also have dumb guys that don't know anything either. They never really talked about the engine mods unless the owner came out and started talking about his car (but that happened once). The cameraman did a couple quick glances at the engine bay but spent more on the conversions and PS2 in the cars.
They also had a feature on that blue Prelude with R34 headlights, R33 Tails, and NSX side moldings. They didn't even mention anything about the engine or even pop the hood.
If you thought that was bad they also had one of those question segments where before the break they ask you a question and you have to find out the answer. Well the question was:
</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">What Sport Compact has the most HP per liter?</td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>
Now I realize this was the Honda edition, but they said Sport Compact not Honda. Their answer was the S2000, it does have a lot of HP per liter but not as much as an S15.
S2000 = 240HP 2.0 liter = 120HP/liter
S15 = 250HP 2.0 liter = 125HP/liter
RX7 = 255HP 1.3 liter = 196HP/liter
Another tidbit to share is that Pep Boys commercials during this show all have this riced out RSX in it. It has the infamous APC (CRAP) Altezzas and a big Wing and a bunch of other stuff. Well Hector from TF&TF is also in those commercials.
The best cars in the show were the RX-7 I spotted in the background and some of the all-motor Civics and CRXs.
The show comes on I guess at 3<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'>0 PM Central on Tuesdays. Hopefully next week’s show will have better cars in it.
