Well I was watching Speedvision (The Speed Channel whatever it wants to be called). And they had a show that is called Hi-Rev Tuners. I will tell you now that it is sponsored by Pep Boys, so you could already imagine what is going to follow.

Anyway this is my first time watching it and the show today was about Hondas. Once they said today is a special Honda edition of the show I was about to turn it off, but then I just wanted to see what it is all about. Well they started off with a couple civics, some were riced out and some were not. A couple looked pretty nice and some of them were just wrong. I would get into more detail about what the cars were like but there were so many I can't remember all of them. I'll just say there were a bunch of headlight and taillight conversion, some funny looking trunk and hood mods (Suicide trunk, and a split hood). Some of the cars were pretty clean; I have to hand it to them. The show in a way is bad because of the hosts of the show. They are either brainless women with nice bodies (no offense to the females), and they also have dumb guys that don't know anything either. They never really talked about the engine mods unless the owner came out and started talking about his car (but that happened once). The cameraman did a couple quick glances at the engine bay but spent more on the conversions and PS2 in the cars.

They also had a feature on that blue Prelude with R34 headlights, R33 Tails, and NSX side moldings. They didn't even mention anything about the engine or even pop the hood.

If you thought that was bad they also had one of those question segments where before the break they ask you a question and you have to find out the answer. Well the question was:
</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">What Sport Compact has the most HP per liter?</td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>

Now I realize this was the Honda edition, but they said Sport Compact not Honda. Their answer was the S2000, it does have a lot of HP per liter but not as much as an S15.
S2000 = 240HP 2.0 liter = 120HP/liter
S15 = 250HP 2.0 liter = 125HP/liter
RX7 = 255HP 1.3 liter = 196HP/liter

Another tidbit to share is that Pep Boys commercials during this show all have this riced out RSX in it. It has the infamous APC (CRAP) Altezzas and a big Wing and a bunch of other stuff. Well Hector from TF&TF is also in those commercials.

The best cars in the show were the RX-7 I spotted in the background and some of the all-motor Civics and CRXs.

The show comes on I guess at 3<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'>0 PM Central on Tuesdays. Hopefully next week’s show will have better cars in it.

Cliff Notes: Hi-Rev Tuner = 30 minute Import Tuner Magazine Show

I saw that show a few times. Nothing really special. Some cool cars every now and then. They had a fatty Supra with some giant turbo, but that's about it. Mostly show cars with a lot of paint, lights, gadgets.

The Hi-Rev show is mainly fluff. &nbsp;W/ the gyrating camera that never focuses on one aspect of the car so you really don't even get to see what its all about.....then they throw in the cheap red and blue filters to make seeing the cars even harder. &nbsp;And no, they really could give a rat's ass about the engine mods. &nbsp;They want to see fiberglass dash w/ the pS2 and multiple LCD screens. &nbsp;Pretty ghey IMHO <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sneaky.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':pissed:'>

IMO, the show jus sucks a$$ like you all have mention its girls and that one guy who doesnt know jack sh!et bout nothing bout the engine mods. I've seen it like every sunday nite the recap of that week. I saw one hachiruko in there and nothing else that is really special to glance at all... The show jus sucks sooo much A$$ its not even funny. I jus watch it to see if they get some shiet &nbsp;messed up. Oh yah like 2 weeks ago they asked a really lame question. "Do you know the real name of the 240sx in Japan" was the answer. Any car nut or freak should known that jus from reading magazines. To me its really a water down show for those RICERS who need to goo all show and no go.... hahahaha

to me that show is pretty much advertisment for pepboys' about the apc stuff that they are selling.. and try to get much of those uneducated people thinking that it does makes the car go faster once you have thme installed.. and lastly everyone has said it.. it is plain sux.. following the camera is like having a rollercoaster.. it just makes you dizz and can barely see a damn thing about the car or the engine.. except those nicely looking altezza tail lights that can make you get lots of HP.

With all these complaints about these shows, someone should make a decent show for imports. Domestics get so many shows on TNN and Speed Channel, but only one import show (that I know of) and its riced out. Some other company should make a show, like Sport Compact Car or sumin. Someone should mail Sport Compact Car and see if they put it in thier magazine and give you a response.

Exactly wat is this. The only other thing I saw was some special they had on an import show (this is a while back), it had some decent cars though. They had a really nice MR2

That show is weak, but Import Tuner Magazine is not that bad compared to Hi-Rev Tuner.

Hey now...you're talking sh!t about my friend there. &nbsp;

He doesn't have any input on what cars or products are featured on that show and it really pisses him off. &nbsp;But as he said..."If they offered you as much money as they offered me, you'd be right there talking about the newest generation of Tezza tails as well."

By the way...his name is Rob Cardona from right here in Indy and he knows more about engines that you ever will.

Ever heard of Kevin Bunch's 10 sec Civic Hatch? &nbsp;The red one featured in Super Street a while back? &nbsp;That's his creation...Kevin's money, but his tuning. &nbsp;They built it in Kevin's garage in their spare time. &nbsp;Full Interior Turbo GS-R powered hatch running low 10's. &nbsp;Yeah...he doesn't know a thing about engines.

Ever heard of C&R Racing? &nbsp;You know, the guys who build 90% + of the radiators for IRL, CART, NASCAR, etc? &nbsp;The ones who build THE best radiators for imports? &nbsp;That's Rob. &nbsp;He designs and builds them for C&R. &nbsp;The guy knows his stuff.

You can look for his next creation to be on the track for the next NIRA Drag season. &nbsp;Carbon fiber bodied, tube-chassied, turbo H22 2001 Civic. &nbsp;He and Kevin will be right up there with Papadakis and the rest of them.

Check out www.fullblownracing.com for updates as the project progresses. &nbsp;I know its a Honda &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>, but it's still fast

If i got paid enough i'd be next to Hector in the Pep Boys commercials talking about 5 inch exhaust

it might be degrading but when I come home to the car of my dreams it will all be worth it.

Maybe if all of us stop watching, the ratings will slip and the show then be canceld. This will probably not happen = Too many RICERS. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hehe:'> I do like watching other stuff on Speedvision though: F1 races, WRC- rally, also AutoWeek.

Best show(s): OPTION VIDEOS vol.1 - infinity <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':thumbsup:'>
