I have my now ex Daily Driver for sale. This listing is long but descriptive down to every nook and cranny I can think of no matter how insignificant! For all the emails I get with questions Ive been and will try to incorporate them into my ad. Better to be up front about everything.
The goods:
Mechanic owned 1989 240sx hatch non se... Lightest model year available.
CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN
Good title and carfax report included with the car. I can email anyone a copy of the carfax if you want. Im the 3rd owner. 1st owner I believe was middle aged. 2nd owner had the car for a very short period of time. Car spent most of its time with him staying in the garage till he needed to replace it with a damn mint rx7.
Engine couldnt be nicer. This SOHC ka24E is DEFINITELY TURBO WORTHY, not tired feeling like alot of other kas can be. this car compression tests high and each cylinder is either dead nuts or within just a few psi (from the factory tolerance is +15psi between each!). Screw SR save your cash and spend it on nice parts.
The car has survived a seafoam treatment with no issues arising from it 2k miles ago, not even really dirty clouds or anything when I did it. Thats a good sign of an engine to last
Car gets up to temperature quickly but never ever overheats or seems to move that needle beyond the middle no hard you try.
GETS 28MPG HIGHWAY thats 2MPG OVER EPA. you could probabbly REALISTICALLY get a few mpg more if you didnt drive 80mph, switched to synthetic, and were light on the throttle.
Suspension is all in good standing, no blown shocks... Drives and rides like a dream!
Sunroof(Doesnt leak!),
5 speed converted.
Brand new brakes pads and rotors up front, new pads in back. Fluid was about 50% flushed. Stops on a dime!
TWO TONE with gloss black roof, gloss white car, (roof paint was 2 weeks ago, body was painted last weekend. White isnt the factory white, its VERY white... Like integra championship white kinda white)
15% dark tint. Match that with the black roof and it looks like the car is all glass from the doors up!
Interior has no cracks or big gouges. Im not a smoker, and it never had any smells when I got it so they musnt have been a smoker before me. Car used to have a tan interior but the guy before me converted it all to black. The seats are still tan colored in the front but they have some really nice fitting seat covers over them so you dont see it.
Rear was FULLY dynomatted. I mean... FULLY... to the point that the guy started with the shock towers and worked his way back not missing an inch. Spilled water in there before and it just retained it till I realized it stayed the next day and had to clean it out.
Fresh undercoating along most of the underbody - prepped for winter!
NO body rust, When painting I went through and found every last bit of body rust... Ground it down as much as I can, sprayed it all to treat it, then sealed with final paint. Repaired larger rust areas with the same method as well with plastic to smooth things and fiberglass to build/reinforce areas. as well as 90% of the dings on ultra anal mode.
Wingless/wiperless/rustless hatch!
Power antenna delete. Hole was filled. Uses the in glass ant. it works 90% as well.
Factory floormat dyed black.
snow tires with decent tread.
Aftermarket Exhaust (think its b&m? 2.5 in mandrel single can dual tip)
k&n drop in intake filter
Tight notchy Short shifter with new bushing
Polk audio 6x9 speakers in front AND rear.
NEW cap / rotor / plugs / ds tie rod / wipers / windshield / tranny fluid / etc.
155k miles
The bad:
-needs motor mounts BAD, just like every other 240.
-Clutch has seen much better days but is driveable if you dont mind it the way it is. Clutch USED to slip under acceleration after the car idled at rest in traffic/drive up fast food/ etc. but I adjusted the pedal so it seems to hold power now and not really have any problems. I recommend it be changed. I have an aftermarket performance ACT clutch pulled from my friends car after his accident with about 50 miles on it I can work with (Worth a few hundred bux on its own! and imho gives a much nicer pedal feel)
-Alignment. Replaced tie rod by measurement but sloppy old one only allowed so much. Car has a light pull to the left and wheel shimmy from 55-70. Get any used car an alignment when you buy it anyways its good normal practice.
-Idle. Idle controller needs to really be taken apart and cleaned. Sprayed carb cleaner in the thing and it idled like a champ for a week but slowly returned. Its not gonna stall or anything, and it doesnt hunt... Just seems to feel crappy sporatically +/- 50rpm.
-Exhaust hanger. Middle hanger was mysteriously removed by the guy before me, bolt on a new one. Canister area hanger broke, creatively using a coathanger currently. Ghetto but works and not even entirely noticeable! Sometimes makes a little squeeky sound at idle if you REALLY REALLY try to listen for it! otherwhise it gets the job done
-Tire. Drivers side rear tire needs to be re-balanced. Car will vibrate from 80+mph. You dont feel it before then and it goes away if I put another wheel on to test. whoopie whats that 10 bucks? lol
-Air Conditioning. Surprise, the ac doesnt engage anymore due to low pressure. it blew cold when I first got the car but I suspect a slow leak some place. Due to the age of the car its fairly common to need new O ring seals - its actually easier than most people think and should fix the problem. I never fixed it because it didnt bother me and most people pull the ac from these cars for intercooler space and weight.
-radio. Has a stock radio he left in the car that never worked. Never really investigated more than changing the fuse so I dont know why. who cares anyways... who uses the stock tape player?
And the ugly:
-Dent. Has a dent in the lower passenger rocker I didnt bother fully repairing because of time, would cover with any aftermarket side skirts.
-Seats. Has factory tan seats but theres some pretty nice seatcovers on them. Dunno if thats really an ugly but I dont like them. Lumbar supports are worn like all other s13s on the drivers side.
Because of all the recent work in it, condition, and everything Ive been planning on selling for 2000 obo. Anyone who knows anything about these cars know the problems are minor and common for it. If anyones still interested let me know. People can vouch on how clean this baby looks.

So why sell such a great car? I have 3 cars. 1 built 1990 nissan 240sx turbo, 1 crx HF (my new gas mising daily driver) and this car. I picked up the crx during the gas price pinnacle since I moved farther from my job and now I have to pay for the cash I dropped on the crx. Obviously I wont be selling option 1. I have no need for 2 s13 projects right now.
UPDATED:
Original buyer backed down, Mom wanted him to get a newer car. CAR IS UP FOR GRABS!
(EDIT) Note: Or best offer is subjective to *reasonable* offers! Because of the interest and rarity of a clean 240 like this I cannot consider low offers. 50% my asking price is *NOT* a reasonable offer for whats being sold and the amount I would like to get in my mind. No I wont just tell you the lowest I will go either, Ive received alot of offers but money talks bigger than mail.
NO MORE TIRE KICKERS. Deposits will be non refundable and sale will be final! I have bills and I cant afford anyone who isnt serious about buying and keeping the car.
Because I have bills, I have loyalty to cash. Show up with money and leave with the car, First person here with cash gets it.NO CHECKS. PM OR EMAIL ME if interested and feel free to ask any questions you may have!!
