Due to the high amount of "For Sale" postings that also follow up in the message with "No Shipping, local pick up only", why dont we break the for sale forum down regionally?
PacNW- WA,OR,ID,MT,WY,and Norcal
SoCal- Fresno south,NV,AZ,NM,UT
Central-ND,SD,NE,KS,OK,TX,MN,IA,IL,WI
NorEast-IN,KY,MI,OH,WV,PA,NY,MD,DE,NJ,CT,MA,VT,NH,ME,RI
Southeast-AR,LA,TN,MS,AL,GA,NC,SC,VA,FL

Just trying save folks time from going back 4 pages through one ad only to find "Local pick up only, no shipping"

We will take that into consideration once we get the new server up and running.

OK hmm, I was going through that link thinking "WTF? Why didn't I see this" Must be rather old, it does not list out on this forums topics.
Ya know though, it did bring light on another idea to me.
The regional forums are already in standing, so a possible and seemingly easily executable option is this:
In the "For Sale" forum, just a new Sticky; If you will not ship, post your item for sale in the regional chat forum.
Only allow folks willing to ship items to post in the 'For Sale" forum.
For those who blatantly disregard that sticky, lock, delete, have a nice day. Try again tomorrow after you've read the sticky.

Dont do the nice thing of moving threads, just a quick delete, no questions asked nor warnings given.

Seems fairly simple from my perspective, but then again I dont moderate. If there's anything I can do to help, just let me know.
Thanks for hearing me out.

Dude, I already lock/delete a million threads a week in the marketplace for people not reading sticky threads, I would not want to have brought into play a new subsection or a set of rules surrounding one I rarely bother going into (yes, I rarely bother even LOOKING in the regional section, sumbitch could be on fire for what it matters to me).
The ends does not justify the means. It isn't perfect, but it ain't broke, so no need to fix it.

Obviously its you're call, I'm just shooting a suggestion to improve a percieved problem that discourages me from even looking in the sales forum.
It honestly seems that 9 out of 10 sale postings are people not willing to ship which just adds to the frustration of seeing lazy people posting BS new threads that I have to wade through for a simple answer.

Am I frustrated, ya dang skippy. Does it bother me, nah, I have A.D.D.

Obviously you fail to realize that somethings are to large to be economically shipped price wise. Or stuff is priced cheap enough that shipping would cost more. That is usually the reason for people not wanting to ship.
Now if you can't understand that you need to step back and look at your attitude. The threads are not BS just because they don't want to ship nor are they lazy. On top of that you admit that your to lazy to bother to sift through the for sales ads for something you want. Hmmmm pot calling the kettle black? So much for your A.D.D. and A.D.D. is bullshit to begin with its just an excuse that psychiatrists and drug companies use to sell drugs. A.D.D. people are basically type A personalities and usually become quite successful in life.

What grounds do you have to come back with a personal attack like that?
Thats totally uncalled for. I'm trying to figure out a solution to a percieved problem and you are attacking me.
Economical shipping? Think about it, if someone wants something bad enough, they will be willing to pay for the shipping services no matter what they may be. Why are shipping costs a concern on the shippers part if he has covered his shipping and handling(crating) cost in his sales price or agreed with the consignee that the consignee will cover all packaging, shipping, and commision costs?
If I'm willing to ship out a $5.00 part but the shipping costs $8.95 alone, you better believe the buyer is going to front all the associated costs with shipping the item. If I dont want to ship the item but someone wants it bad enough, I may just add in another $5.00 to cover my gas and time going to the UPS store. That way I'm in front of the 8 ball.
Large, bulky items? Well thats what Fedex, UPS, DHL, Forward Air, Xpress Global Systems, Express-1, and other freight carriers are for. Cheap? No, but refer back to my 5th sentence.
Dont tell me to check my attitude. You were the one making assumptions and attacking here, not me.
Just like you assumed I was stating the B.S. posts were within the sales forum.
You were wrong.
I dont go throught the sales ads looking for answers, I thought that would be pretty cut and dry. Maybe I was wrong in assuming people would be smart enough to realize they find answers in threads pertaining to specific topics, not for sale items.
The B.S. threads I'm referring to are the newby threads in the chat forum asking about items blatantly displayed in the sticky's or stupid things like "Where is a good place to get the carbs on my S14 KA looked at?" or "Since this is the silvia forum, can I put a VG30dett in my 1987 Sentra SE?"

A.D.D.? Show me your post doctoral study credentials to back up your claims of nonexistence. Until then your attack is no different than someone making racial attacks. Its uncalled for and appear to be the creation of a fourteen year old e-thug.
You dont even know me. You just once again assumed you are the lead authority on this topic. Until I see your name somewhere like this: http://www.add.org/ , you have no grounds.

Please carry this argument out somewhere else, no one wants or needs to see it here.
1 - I have explained that it would be ridiculous to have to moderate for sale forums on a regional level, it is enough work as it is now.
2 - add to #1 the strain on bandwidth that would come with adding 5 new subforums to take the place of what is already the forum's busiest section.
3 - I agree with Dave on the ADD discussion, sometime about 20 years ago, in Greensboro, NC, there was this kid named Phillip, terribly brilliant, but fucking bored, and in such, disruptive in classes at school and such. Doctors came up with a name for this, "ADD," and suggested all kinds of nonsensical medications and shit to "treat" the condition. Phillip's grandmothers, on the other hand, had a better idea. "You're not beating his ass enough," they told my parents... Lo and behold, Phillip would go on to learn to play 3 musical instruments, played football 2 years in highschool and baseball the other 2, and wow, he even graduated college. Did he take any drugs or did his parents listen to some kook trying to help perpetuate the sales of some bullshit wonder drug? Hell no!
"Asswhoopins, it's my anti-drug"

Quite simple really, dont attack me when I'm in an honest attempt to help.

RE:1&2- I've already agreed with you once and dropped the topic. Matter of fact this thread had been dropped in my eyes prior to getting attacked. I would appreciate it if you would lock it now, so that it cannot continue.

RE:3- I've got two degree's, one engineering certification, logistic control of one of the largest transport companies in the United States, played 3 instruments in H.S., taught myself how to build prolevel race bikes from frame up, and no drugs either. I still have the attention span of a fruitfly however.

Please lock, thanks.

You are totally right Spec7, it pisses me the fuck off when I see ads and then find out theyre in socal and they wont ship anything. If moderation is such an issue, add more staff and restrict thier access, this is not hard.
