Are you talking about REAL coilovers? If so, you should be saying something under $1400.

I didn't get to see whatever those two links were....appearently I don't have the program or something

Try Ground Control. They are pretty good for fake coilovers, but it still might be pushing that $400 limit after you get shocks, which you will need.

too much Gran turismo 3

Most coil overs have a set spring rate that the manufacturers found were best for your car. The big difference in coil overs is whether they have a linear or progressive spring rate. If you want stiff, you need a linear spring rate...you wont find those for $400 bucks. You could always have a completely custom job and specify your spring rates by talking with the manufacturer (even more $$...but it's best to go with what manufacturers like TEIN have already done lots of research on.

Theres a reason why cutting springs is bad-- it f*s up the suspension geometry and balance.

Ground Control coil overs are pretty good, and you can specify your spring rate...the next trick is finding a good shock to mate with it...if you mate a weak cheap shock with a stiff spring, you're suspension will be A$$. Easiest way is to get something like TEIN HA's or RA's which already are a coil/shock combo and have a pretty wide range of adjustability (ride height(something not to really mess with too much) and dampening levels)

basically- theres as much, if not more to suspension tuning as there is engine tuning.
