uhh the car sounds higher pitched, kindof more on the raspy side, like a honda (unfortunately) i don't think i have an exhaust leak

i feel like i lost low end

and because im running 9lbs i cant feel the gain in top end...

only difference is i spin out after 7k in 1st.. oh yeah, and with my boost controller set on the same boost as before i boost 0.1bar less, with the new manifold than on the stocker. is that normal?

has anyone else experienced this?

Did you use OEM gaskets?

My car sounded pretty raspy and made slightly less boost because the turbo to exhaust manifold was leaking pretty good... It wasn't oem but like the gaskets that come with downpipes, barely any gasket was present when I took the turbo off. (at Nissan Dealer: '95 300zx TT uses the same gasket)

Anyway, I used to drive a Crx with Ls/vtec and would definitely liken the raspy sound to a honda... If you can barely hear the turbo spool over the rasp, you've got a leak.

I installed a GTSpec manifold, which looks basically the same as the Megan in the picture. I noticed boost spool much, much faster and lower in the rev range (like ten PSI in less than a second if I mash the throttle, full boost by 3K) I cant imagine that the Megan manifold would perform that much worse, so I'd check for leaks... If everything was good before, it shouldn't get any louder or slower from a manifold. Try putting your hand next to the flange when the car is running. I could feel exhaust when my gasket was leakin

Hope that helps:D

hmm it feels quick, it definately sounds hell of alot different though, my turbo to manif gasket is brand new

its not leaking either.. it sounds like i have an external wastegate under boost, thats the best way to describe it, its crazy...

so what your saying in the orignal post is it gave you no gains over the stock manifold? i think you have a exhaust leak. i had a exhasut leak at the turbo to mani and it felt slower to. i ordered spl metal gaskets and we'll see how it goes. still waitng on parts

After putting mine on, I managed to catch the rubber elbow closest to the manifold on fire during an event.
Also blew the turbo mount gasket and 2 of the studs broke off.
Went back to stock after that and sold it for $30

Did you slot the runners? Also your initial review, was, no offense, the most useless review ever...

i know, it was more of a question like... probably wasnt the best thread title

car just sounds so different, i dont detect a leak,

manifold is great, car is def quicker

lol at hooptie seperator tank hose routing.

Exhaust Manifolds are mandatory mod on SR just because it makes them sound less like 4G63, which is always a good thing.

anyone know where i can get that bracket new?

X2, unless you believe it was human error. If you plan on running the t2 print on your final setup stick to the stocker or go with the full-race prostock. Or another higher end manifold (non of which fall into the full-race category).

That incedent could have caused seious damage to yourself as well as others.

take care and glad to know it was only minor.

Did you upgrade the motor mounts? The stock ones allow too much flex which will wiggle bolts loose.

So, You had the full weight of the exhaust on the turbo manifold and you wonder why it failed?

yeah the stock manifold is just fine for the t25, i had the megan manifold on with the megan crap gaskets and they blew within a week and then the nuts began to loosen. Also it was rubbing against my hotpipe gasket and putting a whole in it, and that was the deciding factor. Since then ive put oem metal gaskets in with the stock mani and ive had no problems so far. just my 2 cents.

get what you pay for...
I also have one on my s13 sr20...and have welded it twice and also had to reweld o2 housing...
I also felt the power lose...wierd too...no low end...but looks cool...:wackit:
Putting stock mani back on...torque over hp any day.
I header wrapped it and waiting for it to crack again to do work...

all these are easy fixes. coat the manifold, stiff/solid motor mounts, metal gaskets(spl), lock washers for the turbo to mani. The ones that came with the manifold, 2 of them fell off. So i'm hoping that the lock washers will keep them on

this megan manifold makes way more power than stock manifold especially top end.

i brake loose in 1st on stock actuator boost on my hksgt2535 on stock manif did no such thing

My thoughts exactly.

1. Thinner walled manifolds are LESS likely to crack due to the expansion properties.
2.The reason why they crack so much it that they are holding a turbo, wastegate, downpipe, cat, and some exhaust weight.

you're an idiot, the manifold didn't crack, the gasket blew out, and the turbo bounced around on the manifold studs causing the studs to snap off, the manifold did not crack.

I might have jumped to conclusions, not read all of the posts, and wasted bandwidth by making a post that was not conducive to the thread topic, BUT F*CK you for calling me an idiot! ...and my day goes on....lol
