Anyone know where I can get a Nismo 2 way LSD kit? Please don't suggest jspec.com, I've checked with them and it's a 2 month wait. I'm just looking for a place that can get it a little sooner.

Thanks

have you checked out AZN GTR's post in the chat forum? He says that he can get a bunch of stuff from Hong Kong so check it out, he might be able to find something that interests you. Also on Ebay right now there are Kaaz LSDs for sale.

not many places will carry it .sam's the man.
if you knew someone or in japan you can get them much cheaper (i've heard 500 USD). can get used too.

isnt someone selling stuff from japan on this board?

anyways, shipping is a killer, they arent light.

kaaz is just as good
dont get suckered into the whole "jdm is better" mentality. or even worse, "nismo is the best for nissan". nismo is good, but not god. its like TRD to toyoto, some nice things, but you can get other companies that make bettre/more variety stuffs

Kaaz is clutch based, nismo is mechanical. what it means, i dont know, but both are excellent LSDs.

im getting my LSD in japan in january.

I've always thought Mechanical LSD's were better than Clutch Type LSD. the kaaz (clutch type) tends to be real noisy as opposed to the nismo mechanical

well as far as the JDM thing goes, I've heard Quaife is one f the best, but isnt it american?

the nismo kit runs for about $950 from jspec.
Jspec sell the whole kit, which include the oil, output flanges, gaskets, everythign you'll need
but my friend who had a kaaz put in spent over $1200. I heard you need either an LSD differential or you have to make some changes to your stock one, while the nismo kit has all the parts needed to drop in.

so in this situation, the nismo happens to be about the same in price if not cheaper.

Quaife, american, probably is the best out there, if you break it they replace it, regardless of driving conditions, which is why so many rally freaks swear by them, but expect to dish out some serious$$

i just feel more comfortable with gears engaging than plates slipping to keep wheels spinning the way they should

For more info on the types of differentials,
I refer you to the always informative: HowStuffWorks.com

http://www.howstuffworks.com/differential.htm

Good general differences on the types of diffs, both open and LSD.

eng_man, when did you check with JSpec.com. I email them a week or two ago, and I though they said the had them in stock.

Last email I got from them was on the 29th, said it would take 2 months to get

KAAZ 1.5way LSD + nissan LSD output shaft should run alittle over a grand. We are putting together a package, but just that we have to order the LSD and output shaft before we can ship it out.

That's the same price KAAZ quoted me when I called them up. The only reason to get the Nismo is because it comes with more parts (the bearings & gaskets) for a slightly lower price.

I asked Heavy Throttle ... they don't have any.

Does anyone know where I could get a Nismo LSD ... there has to be someone that can get it

sam's the man. he can get it for you if u have patience. he will be probably the ONLY person (business) who can get it.
other then him, you best know someone in Japan who can get it for you. and shipping ISNT CHEAP

kaaz will cost just as much or less. i've seen kaaz units go for 500, no shafts. that would be about 800 when you get the shafts. not bad.

To be perfectly honest he seemed a bit impersonal in the last few emails I've sent him inquiring about the part number of the LSD

Kaaz won't cost less ... LSD is 700, shafts are 300, bearings are 100, oil is another 40 or so, not to mention shipping.

But since I can't seem to find the Nismo one anywhere looks like I'm going to have to get that -_-
