New Zilvia Server

As some of you may know we are planning on getting a new server for Zilvia to increase performance and handle the growing load. We have the server hardware specifications figured out, but just need to get alittle more cash saved up.

To help us along, we want to sell out the remaining Zilvia.net stickers.

Uber mods- can we do some type of Zilvia.net t-shirt? I can get them screen printed to make some $$$ for the server. I know I mentioned doing the pit shirts, but that was over my head. I have already gotten t-shirts for my promotion company, so I know I can definatelu do this and we can talk costs and other stuff through e-mail; Cdoria (at) comcast.net

We have quite a few things in the works. Server hardware should be ordered this week, still a little short of cash, but we have a little piece of plastic that will help. We just don't want to get hit with lots of finance charges.

If your not running it allready, works wonders with phpbb, not sure about vbull.
http://www.arnot.info/eaccelerator/ has some pre-compiled ones for win32, but they are old (don't run old ones with php5.x).

Hope your upgrades work out for ya...

Server hardware has been built. Updating drivers and beginning operating system install and hardening tomorrow.

If progress continues, we might be able to do cutover and transition this coming Sunday.

There may be some downtime later today (November 24, 2006) as we will be installing the new server at the colocation facility and getting the database ready for migration to the new server.

We will keep you all advised.
