hey at my last event i saw someone with an s13 coupe that had bolted the sholder straps of his harness into the holes on the DCsports strut bar like this one -

he had no rear seats of course so that the straps could get to the bar.
it looks safer then bolting it to the stock rear seat belt mounting holes because the straps were at a more level plan much like a harness bar, but not quite. so yea i was wondering is safe and legal cuz if it is, its ALOT cheaper then a harness bar.

well what happens if you slam the rear 1/4 into a wall and it pushes the strut tower back 6 inchs or a foot and your already tight in the harness.

8 inches farther than where the DC sports was installed? Is that what you meant?
You're a ninja, go vanish when in a crash.
Hehehe.

Legal? No. Safe? No.
You need a rollcage in order to protect yourself. Stock belts are designed to push you to the center and the floor of the car as it collapses around you. Harnesses without the rollcage keep you in one place as the car collapses on top of you.

Im running hooptie home depot harness bar.
Its sturdy, and i think it could handle a wreck, but its far from what someone with an engineering degree would call safe.
You cant do the strut towers since the belts would have to angle and thats not so fresh.
