I wwant to buy something from Jspec....but have 2 issues, one they wont ship to Canada, i will ship to the US, then get my buddy to send up here. Two they dont take credit cards....only internation wire transfer. A buddy of mine told me to stay away from them, not cause he has ever delt with them but cause he thinks that its pretty fishy that they wont accecpt credit cards.

Any help is wanted, i really want an item i cant seen to find anywhere else so if you have yay's or nay's for Jspec please let me know.

Thanks

jspec like jspec.com
??
they are fine to deal with
yeah shipping to caanda sucks, i wont do it to
they dont have to if they dont want to, they can do what they want. usually can find a local or us buyer for the same product.

fishy? hahaha
jspec has been around for almot 6 years and is very well known and the owner sam is a good friend with most of the so cal import 'scene' and such

assuming you are talking about JSpec.com (sam)

that isn't out of the ordinary

we typically wont accept anything except wire transfer from international customers

this is due to the rotten apples unfortunately, who ruin it for everyone else

but yeah like dousan said, if its jspec.com (sam) then you have nothing to worry about in terms of reputation

yea they are good to go. i actually had to open a paypal account a few months ago so i could pay them for a set of wheels i bought, which sucked cause i didnt want to deal with paypal. but as far as sam and jspec, i had no problems at all.....

Sam is the man. He helped me out back in the day by loaning me some wheels with tires so I could do a drift comp. He didn't even know me that well but he knew I was serious about tracking my car. I'll always promote him for that very reason. He has good deals on tomei 2 ways and installs too. AHHAHAHA

Sam gets two thumbs up in my book.

I tried to deal with them a couple times, but never got a response from my emails when I tried, so I gave up and bought what I needed elsewhere.

Everyone else, on the other hand, says they're okay to deal with, but I have long since stopped trying.

Two thumbs up for Sam and Jspec.
I got my MR Coilovers from Sam almost a year ago and got them cheaper than what they go for brand new these days. Also got several other parts from him and every time, the transactions went smooth.

I bought a car from Sam -- he's a straight shooter with upper management written all over him.

He's kind of the car parts version of the soup Nazi. Sometimes ya gotta jump through hoops, but in the end it's all good.

theyve been around for along time so dont worry about getting scammed. i dont really deal with them since same was rude to me. i called and asked what color of a certain brand of lugnuts they had in stock, i forgot wut it was, maybe works?, and he said *youll have to come down and see for yourself* I thought he was joking at first, but he wasnt. he wouldnt tell me what colors they had before i made a 30 minute drive to the shop to find out. so I would rather spend my money at another shop.

but you shouldnt have problems buying from them. i mean theyll get you ur product and all that good stuff.

Sam is the man, known him for years. Rule of thumb with him is basically you deal with him his way he gets you what you want and sometimes for the total hook up. The big thing to remember with Sam is. He has been in the game since the beginning. He deals with a lot of people. If he seems short, don't worry its got nothing to do with you. He deals with so many people he does not like to mince words or waste time. He is basically of the attitude that if your calling or emailing him he has what you want. If you can deal with that then he will sell you good product and stand behind it. On top of that if your local and he tells you to come down to the shop do it! You will do yourself a big favor by coming down and meeting the man. He is very cool in person.

He can tell you damn near ANYTHING you could ever want to know about an s-chasis. What works and what dosn't. What looks hot and what looks like ass.

He is a walking encyclopedia for import cars. Go there and listen to the man if he invites you down or you see him at a meet.

Ya, they just won't deal with you if you're in Canada.. I've once inquired about a shift knob, and I know they don't like shipping to Canada, but I've said I'd really wanted that one and have trouble finding it else where, and I'm willing to pay any additional amounts for shipping, and they just ignore me..

Have you been paying attention?
He does business both ways, locally and through the website... My own experience went the way it did because I am not local enough to have dropped by to get what I wanted. Some of the people that responded positively had that luxury, a couple agree with my experience. All in all, having dealt with a small fraction of the people he deals with for his living, I can see where Sam may be a little jaded and/or short with people, but experience will do that to an individual.

Sam is a very stereotypical asian business man (as weird as that sounds)

He's all up front, no bullshit and not much of an artist with words. He says what he needs to say, period.

Good guy though from my dealings. Sometimes he just comes off the wrong way though.

Does anyone know what's up with jspec.com?

I know on their site it says they are busy. But I emailed them like 3 weeks ago, about some parts I want to order. The I emailed them again last week. I haven't got a reply yet. I even called, but it either rings busy, or just keeps ringing with no answer.

Just want to know what's going on...if any of you may know...

do you know if jspec sam allows local pick-up? i can't seem to find an address of their facility so i take this as a no?

we close our retail store due to many reasons.
1. local guys low balls too much and does not make enough to keep the store going.
2. over 90% of our sales are out of state what's the point of having a store(extreme high overhead).

pick up is still available only to certain items and by appointments only.
on small items we would rather ship it(under $100 items)
on large items we would rather deliver(less hassle of waiting).
if you want to do local pick up please call or email or aim or pm us with what you like and don't do what this guy do and wonder why we don't reply.

... that is precisely why I stopped trying. It still seems to me that it is mostly the local people who get prompt responses.

Also, not like it needs to be said, but Sam is awesome. I've never had to deal with him as anything other than a friend, but I have assisted him in answering questions he's gotten via email (which btw, he gets billions of emails, and most are from people who have no idea what they're talking about or what they want, as well as from people who simply can't afford the things they want.

Anyway, Jspec.com + Sam = WIN.
