I got one in my younger dumber days about 4 years ago when I was careless on the roads. If I remember correctly mine was only $75 but that was also before all the f&f crazes got started so Im sure it is quite a bit more these days. Least you got a ticket and they didn't take your care. But you also should take it to the track and not risk the helpless people on the roads. Just my .02 cents

thanks a lot dude, any body get one sonner. thanks
Did the impound your car and throw you in jail? If you didn't then you got lucky. Speeding contest tickets are no joke. Not to worry you, but expect hefty fines, suspension of license, getting a new insurance carrier and higher premium... I think that's it.

Depends on the county...your looking at close to $1k in traffic fees and fines. Also, not sure if theyd let you go to traffic school for it. I suggest you get a lawyer to try to lessen the charges or better yet convince the judege to let you go to traffic school. Its not the fine you should worry bout, its your insurance rates once your company finds out about it. Ballpark off $300 a month with $1800 6 month premium.
You might wanna start counting your blessings cuz last i remember, LA county impounds cars and part them out to the impound yards. Just the fact that they didnt impound your car is a big surprise.

just wait till the ticket comes and get a lawyer if the fees are high. u might have to do community service and ur insurance will prolly skyrocket

im suprised you know nothing about it and seem like nothing even happened to you. Where I live (northern VA) and many areas around the country, street racing is not welcomed. Here in Fairfax county, we see Mustang cops, Camero cops, Vette cops, Charger, M3, Jeep with a head light out, turboed Hondas, and there have been rumors of an S2000 lately. Can't forget about the sleeper cars too like Altimas and crap... that kind of stuff reminds us of what could happen to our cars if we dont obay the laws... even tho thos cars are usually drug confiscated cars lol.

If you count the car impound, and fine from the ticket, it'll be more than a grand (this is in CA) . If the judge don't like you, he'll give you the maximum fine allowable, that's when it gets real ugly. It wasn't me that was racing so don't start flaming.

maybe the law is just more harsh in texas.every buddie that has ever gotten a street racing ticket has gone to jail that i know of.
it ain't worth it. just keep it on the track.

1000$ impound fees
1400$ ticket
40 hours of community service / 10 days of jail
480$ insurance (full coverage) a month
lose license for 6 months
no traffic school
2 points on your license (3 in a year and you lose it)
That's if you plead guilty. DO NO PLEAD GUILTY. Take it to court, tell the judge the truth and that you've learned your lesson. You could get the ticket cut in half OR BETTER, never, ever plead guilty. Get a lawyer if you can afford it. GL.

wtf is a speed contest ticket? i was pulled over doing 140 in a 55 and the cop let me go with a seatbelt ticket. btw, i live in NJ. that was about a year ago. and dont flame me, i stopped driving like a mofo, i grew up out of the craze and ONLY speed on the track. hell my suspension's so bumpy, half the time i dont even reach the speed limit cuz im getting bounced around too hard

3 years ago i paid 1106 dollar fine, my insurance doubled, and i got 3 years probabtion where if i was caught at the street races i would serve 6 months. i learned the hard way not to street race.
but on a side note the cop said he was amazed that my lil civic hatch whooped a fox body mustang.

go with SDs if you want to stay with tein, the EDFC on SDs makes them quite tempting

Hahaha knew it. Tein can't valve a coilover to save their life.
I have Section/Silkroad RM-A8's. They're a bit on the pricey side but by golly, they are STIFF as a bastard, smooth as hell for daily driving, have an easy to use 8 click adjustment system, and have upper and lower camber adjustment. They are a inverted monotube design, so suppppposedly they are sturdy. They haven't failed me yet.
I give them a huge thumbsup if you can afford them. They are the only coilover I've OWNED, but I have driven on others, such as JIC's and TEIN's wasn't impressed.

if you pay the ticket PLEASE be sure to follow up after the money has been collected. I have to deal with the courts now since they cant find a record of me paying and passing traffic school online and they fell thrum again after i paid the late fee plus the original ticket at $215 for doing 80 in a 65.
now I am fighting because they suspended my liscence and this is my first ticket!!!!

I wanna know... do you guys see alot of street racing deaths on the news? Why is California so strict on speeding and street racing?
I know its dangerous and irresponsible...but parting out your car seems ridiculus and unfair.
