the only thing about 50mm is that its gonna cost ALOT!!!! more to get wheels that look decent. 30mm is gonna cost alot as well just not as much. Its one of those mods that should only be done if you have money to finish it or else it look like dump dookie

I think widebody is stupid. A huge gt wing makes more sense.
And unless your pushing so much HP to where you need the extra wide tires to keep your wheels sticky to the ground.
What the fuck are you talking about? GT wing?
Widefenders are all about putting big wheels on. If you're running wheel fitments that would otherwise fit with stock fenders, then you shouldn't have them.

Well the only reason I even consider widebody was to cover up some quater panel damages.... if I was going to pay the same amount from the repiars I said might as well get something out of it. Any more thoughts?

hmm...so basically your doing it for the wrong reason. Cuz your gonna end up spending alot more going this route than just getting it fixed. Bodywork, parts, time and effort to make it look right and then money for some rims. Thats definitely not gonna be cheap. Custom sized rims to fill those rear fenders will run you atleast $4k plus wait forever to get them.

HKS, go find a body shop worker that does a good job...offer him beer, pizza...or whatever. Then go from there. Or...buy another shell.

if you buy wide fenders and dont even have the wheels to warrant them, you're a tool.
that isnt a direct comment towards you, thats just a general statment. Having wide fenders just for the sake of having them is royally homosexual.

if u just want a showcar, cool, but ull regret having too much rubber if your engine cant turn the wheels fast enough. and running 30MM spacers is just retarded.
so if u dont have the HP, dont bother with going widebody. the whole point of widebody is generally to fit bigger wheels under the car. and the point of that is because skinnier ones are insufficient grip for ur car.
oh and fliprayzin is right, your going to spend a LOT more putting widebody fenders and qtr panels, painting, and buying wide ass wheels, vs just spending 1000 and geting ur major dents and scratches fixed.

For $1000 I could have front 30mm wide fenders, rear 50mm wide overfenders, prep and painted and mouled in...

Moulding that shit is stupid unless this is a total show car. Rivet it and call it good.
And unless you are willing to spend the money to do all of this the right way(overfender, wide fitted wheels, etc), forget about it. Most people I see with 30mm front fenders dont have wheels that would warrant them, much less rolling the stock ones in many cases.
You should give us more info before you as such a vauge question.

I could spend some extra time and make the car look a little better. But I would rather spend that time at the track with riveted on rear overfenders...
There are only a couple people in my area that know what offset is and how to properly fit wheels, most of the others just throw some 17's, or 18's on that are 1" wider than stock at the most and just as sunken in...

I agree. Just as bad or worse then having pulled fenders with sunk wheels. :bash: :goyou:

lol.
Someone suggesting a new shell over 350$ overfenders?
lol.
Overfenders aren't magic. they don't cost 10000000$ to put on. they cost 350$ + 10 for pop rivets. Moulded fenders are about as cool as molded body kits.

Are the +50 or +30s bulged or stretched?
Fiberglass is flexible, Mercers +50s are at least at +80, the odds that my 50s will actually flare 50mm are zero.
Get wheels, set camber, set fenders.

So I suppose +17s aren't sufficient for 50s since you have to get custom offsets? They really seemed too much for 30s...
+17 in what????
dude, realistically, its all about the desired wheel fitment, if you want the car to look like mercers with 50mm fenders not arched (not made to be 80mm) you will need somewhere in the realm of 18x11.5 +15, and 18x10 +05 for it to eve nlook remotely decent....
i do alot of high end wheel shit so if you need shit, my roomate and i hawk wheels from japan all day long...
also, i agree with mcrusselpants... buy a set fo wheels that are extreme but not too extreme, set them on the car, set the alignment, and then buy a set of 50mm and 30mm overfenders and see which looks better, also tire size will affect the look greatly, are you trying to squeeze meat in there like a durex on a whalecock or strech them to all hell? if you stretch you can usually run 15 mms of lower offset... depending on everyhtign else,
i know man, perfect wheel fitment is ruthless, its tough... but buying 2 or 3 sets of fenders will allow you to get the look you want ,besides, you can sel lthe fenders you dont use for 10-20 less than you bought them for, sure you might lose 60 bucks with the buyign and sellign of them, but at least you will have the desired look you always wanted
Here's some sizes to start out at for the rear of S13's.
30mm: 17x9 -1
50mm: 17x9 -19
that's if the fenders really are those measurements.
for every inch larger you go in wheel width, add around 12mm to the offset, and you'll have some safe sizes that will be flush, such as 17x10 -7 for a 50mm.
Here's some pics to help you out. I used spacers on the same wheel.
starting point: 17x9 +36, stock body.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b321/Yurikaze/wccr.jpg
30mm overfender with 37mm spacers. effectively 17x9 -1
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b321/Yurikaze/mycarhasasweetass.jpg
50mm overfender with 55mm spacers. effectively 17x9 -19

hope this helps you out.

Wow, a lot of good information, I have been wondering what wheel sizes to expect to fill 50mm wider rear fenders, and 30mm front.
Thanks...
