i think i have decided on my tie rod set up but i have a few questions about these b4 i purchase. i am looking at the PRO inner tie rod

1. it has a spacer machined in, so if i use another spacer on top of that, it will be like 2 spacers and give even more wheel angle while being safe? and if i don't add another spacer, it will be like tein with 1 spacer correct?

2. i already have a brand new pair of s14 moog outers, so can i use these ends with the peak performance? i'm pretty sure peak uses s14, like tein

3. i'm pretty sure you have to modify your control arm if you use both spacers. what exactly do you modify? do you vut off the bump stop thing? or just trim it down?

i think that's all teh questions for now. unless i come up with others

using 2 spacers is pointless, 5mm spacer will get you to the spindle stopper. u can use a stack of washers or whatever. or SPL sells machined ones, i think 5 or 10 bucks?

if you cut off the stopper and try to go past it your rack will just go over center and youll blow out your steering rack / your wheels will get stuck at full lock.

moog is basically oem which offers no performance benefit, obviously tie rod itself offers no benefit except maybe it wont break as bad if you glance a curb.

if you havent bought anything yet, buy the splparts rod ends and z32 rods, if you already bought the peak performance rods use thoes with no spacer, sell the moog rod ends and get some spls

i have never played with the spl adjustable ends. how do you exactly adjust bumpsteer?

edit: on the 2 spacers thing, teh peak performance tie rod has teh spacer built?machined in to the end. and it has the same amount of threads as stock, so you can put an actual spacer on it, like the one spl sells ($10)

You use the bumpsteer spacers to correct the angle of the tie rod from the rack to the spindle. When the car is too low the tie rod angle is worse, so when you hit a bump, the ball in the part that screws into the rack cant move anymore, pulling the shaft out of the rack/pulling the steering wheel. When you put the bumpsteer spacers, it makes the tie rod straighter, how it would be if the car was higher.

Z32 inners on ebay are cheap. New version SPL ends are definitely worth the money. I need to upgrade myself.

Yeah, it doesn't matter. its still gonna bind past 5mm so theres no point.

Bumpsteer spacers work by trying to make the tie rod follow the same bump/droop curve as the LCA/Strut.

I've heard of one instance of Peak inners failing after two weeks. 1/8" of play developed, no hard hits or anything.

I'm sure it was a fluke manufacturing error but I just wanted to relay this.
