Took tranny off of new sr20det, and theres rusty colored oily mud shit..

neither of my seals appear to be leaking, the tranny input shaft goes in and out a tad bit. where could this oil/crap be coming from?

The inside of my bellhousing had a similar buildup with no apparent leaking from the seals. My guess was that it was from a buildup of worn clutch disc material inside the bell housing.

I wouldnt worry about it.. just clean it up good, get some good degreaser and clean the inside of the bell housing out. mine had about an inch of clutch dust built up on it. get the flywheel turned/replace it and get a new clutch kit

yea this is normal, like they said just give it a good degreasing and be happy :)
