Allright, I had a electrical problem, turns out that I had the power wire on the Alt hooked up wrong, but before I figured that out, I tryed to put the negitive cable on the battery, and sparks flew and I heard a pop from the drivers side (in the engine bay i think), I checked the fuses near the battery (all good) and the fuses under the steering wheel (all good besides third down 10A on the right) Now nothing works at all, no head lights, no hazzards, nothing. I even tryed jumping it and still nothing works. I have no Idead what I blew, any clue? Let me know.

Thanks guys

Sounds more like a engine bay fuse. You shure you checked all of them?

Its your alt fuse.. its a 75a fuse i believe. The dude that helped me install my sr did the same thing you did, i blew 2 fuses before figuring it out. The fuses are 20 a pop from the dealership. I GUARENTEE thats what your problem is. And its near the battery if its a s13. Its one of the box fuses

everything on the inside of your car runs through that fuse. So nothing will work, not even heater or anything.

Ya, i blew that one twice, I went a head and just soldered it, cuz $20 a pop is alot, and the dealership by me only had one. Ill redo that one and get back to you guys

20 a fuse may be alot but it beats a car fire due to an electrical short...put a fuse back in there.

you soldered it? as in the prongs in the fuse box or you soldered the fuse its self? If you did the prongs your screwed man.. If a fuse blows it means something isn't right somewhere, and to lock up a fuse with a solid connection it means something bad is bound to happen. time to pull apart your wire harness's and fix what you burnt. You can't do that on the fuse that has more current than anything else man. All the power your car gets when its running goes through that fuse. So if you fried a wire leading out of there you gotta find it.

Or you just fried one of the wires going right into the fuse box, that will make it easy to fix. or your solder job might have fried

You car does not need that fuse to run. It just needs that fuse to keep running. When you start your car it pulls off the battery, and from then on it runs off your alternator. So if your car won't start with a fresh battery then you blew something other than the alt system. If it starts and runs just with no lights, then it has something to do with the alternator fuse.. or wires going to or leaving that fuse.

wtf? thats completely random.

go to the junkyard if you cant spend 20 bucks, and pocket that fuse then, better than soldering something that will destroy your car because you were too cheap to put in another fuse.

Allright I fixed the no power problem, now I have a car will crank but wont start up problem. It turns over but dosent start up, I know there are basics to check , spark, fuel but how do i check them? and what is the most common reason a car will crank but not start (man I was so happy to hear it crank)

Edit: A little more info, I pulled the spark plugs, and they smell like gas, So I know its getting gas. I know the car is internally timmed right, I set the car on TDC, I set the dizzy on the #1 spark, but it still just cranks, every so often it will back fire, and the exhaust will pop pretty loud. Any clues? I've tryed moving the dizzy to get it timed better, but it still dosent start up. If I dont figure this out over the weekend Imma have to take it to a shop (and I'd rather not, I wanna buy my racing seat! ;D) thanks for all your help so far guys, I bet we can figure this out!

I don't even know where to begin. Better take your car to a competent technician to get the wiring/electronics looked at.

timing?? if your cars not getting spark and not getting hott it won't backfire... uhhhhh i dunno. Im not sure what would fry through the elec system.

A guy at work said it might be air in the fuel system, does that make any sence?

i doubt it, im sure you have cranked it for awhile to try and get it started. if there was air, it would still start, just maybe putter or die when the bubbles hit.. Im not sure what to tell ya man..
