Im in the process of buying speed bleeders for my calipers and slave clyinder. i had always assumed the bleed screw for our brake calipers and slave cylinders were the same. Good thing i checked up on my friend at the Nissan dealership parts dept. We found out they have different part numbers. So with this in mind i suppose there is a possiblity that they have different threads. Does anyone know anything about this?

its just called a clutch speed bleeder. The problem with those is they are SAE, and not metric. Im picky and i want metric. I dont want to be switching flare wrenches when trying to bleed the brakes and the clutch in one session. Apparently we need something that has a thread size of M7x1.0

They make them. I saw someone posting on here about them.

Just be very very careful with them because they snap very easily. Because the wall of the bolt are thinner, you can't yank on them as much or they'll break.

i dont know if its just me or what.... but the 7mx1.0 speed bleeder i got from SPL wasn't even close to the threads size of the bleeder screw on my slave clyinder. The one off my slave clyinder is almost 2x as wide. WTF? I have an Advanced Auto Parts slave clyinder but they are ususally just rebuilt OEM ones and if not, they stick with the OEM specs. Now im stuck with a car with an unfunctioning clutch for i have no one to help me rebleed this mother fucker. I really think its a mislabel on my package. Im going to take my speed bleeder to home depot tomorrow and try it in their sample thread things.

if you dont have anyone to help bleed your clutch then use a 2x4 to hold the pedal down while you bleed. i was looking for a clutch bleeder locally and didnt find one. so i used the 2x4 and wedged it between the pedal and the b pillar in the door. it worked fine for me..................

speed bleeder + friends = way faster too.

But you have the option to do it yourself.

FYI with speed bleed on the slave, about 4 full pumps and your m/c will be close to empty, so watch out. Suggestion, do 3 full pump and refill. (this is with reference to the jdm m/c, not sure if same capacity as usdm)

My only concern with SpeedBleeders is that they tend to leak when the fluid heats up. You have to back the bolt off and gently retighten an additional 1/8 turn.

I had 3 out of 8 leak a little bit. Not a huge deal but it's something to check.

I understand that this is an old thread and I am digging with a big ass shovel here BUT

Does anyone have any experience here with these? Does anyone know if they leak from the threads or from the fluid relief valve?

Speed bleeders suck.

Bleeding normally is easy.
