i just got installing a no name short throw that didnt come with any instructions and I think I did everything right but who knows. The problem is I can get into all of the gears but it isn't easy. It's pretty tough to change gears compared to usual. This shifter came with a metal plate that goes around it and two brackets that I believe are supposed to go under it as you can see in the pictures... I'm wondering if a) this is right or not, b) if it is should I tighten the screws down alot or leave it kindo f loose to make it easier to shift ... c)am I supposed to reuse the C-ring that was on the stock shifter because I dont think it will fit down in there with the new plastic piece...

I dont remember seeing a C ring...I pulled the snap ring out and then the bushing under it but I didn't see anything else should I look harder?

Take it all apart and put the metal spacer that came with your short shifter kit in FIRST... before you install the bushing/cup socket and wave washer! From the looks of your pictures you have it installed between the square aluminum plate and the upper bushing, which is what's causing your problems.

After you have it in the right order, you should be able to tighten the screws down all the way.
