One of the problems with us having lowered cars and fiberglass aero pices is they crack. Don't you hate it when you are running late to the bank or whatever and you pull into the spot (Usually back in) and all of a sudden you hear *Crack* and see a pice fly up in the air. I hate that shit. Well for the 3rd time it happened to me yesterday so I fixed it really quick and to make myself feel better I documented it:
Well finished fixing the bumper. It took me about 30 minutes. COuld have done a bit better of a job but I was racing the daylight:
Supplies Needed:
Fiberglass Contour Puddy and Hardner
Puddy Knife
CHop Sticks (Ohashi) to mix the contour.
Paper Plate to mix Puddy on.
Sand Paper, fine medium, and Coarse.
Rattle Can Paint to match the car.
Masking Tape
1. First break the chunks of as you see in picture #1. The PIcs shows the chunks out after I cleaned it up a bit
2. Mix up your contour, make sure not to add too much harnder as it dries really f'ing fast. Add a bit extra making sure you push down with the knife to fill the holese. Add the contour on nice and thick to rebuild the lines, you can sadn it down to match the priginal lines later.
3. After it is All sanded down and smooth, wipe it down with water on a rag and let it dry.
4. Use your masking tape and tape off the areas that you didnt sand off. Make sure that you do not atper too far away from the repaired piece.
5. Make sure your paint is as close of a mtach as possible, then shake the can for at least a minute. Sparay in nice even bursts left and right ensuring not to get any over spray past the tape and too thick so that it will run. Wait 10 minutes and apply another coat. Wallah you are done. Then take the tape off later.
