For those of you who do not know, Auto Zone has tools that you can rent for free, for example spring compressors. You pay some where around $40 to rent these tools for however long you need and then return it and get your money back. Just thought some of you might want to work on your car with the right tools for free.

lol...ill just add some info too though. They also rent out the hub pullers (good for 5 lug swaps) and if I'm not mistaken also those huge sockets (32mm, 36mm) for pulling hubs off.

You can also get loaded Z32 brake calipers for about $145,,,, fully rebuilt with new pads. Just turn in your old 240sx calipers a couple days later and they won't know the difference ;)

I work at Autozone and with the amount of cores we deal with, there's no way we'd be able to tell if the cores getting returned are from the right vehicle. I just check the box to make sure it actually has calipers in it. There'd be no way for me to make sure even if I wanted to. Our catalogs don't have pictures and they don't say that they're 4piston calipers in the computer.

I told the AutoZone guy that I was swapping my calipers and his response:
"As long as we get Nissan calipers, we can use them. So, the fact that they aren't from this particular car, we can still use them."
And then when I was talking about doing something similar with my axles and J30 axles the guy at O'Reilley's said the same thing, "Just bring in what you've got and we'll refund the core charge. We can use just about any axles you've got."
PS: Any major auto-supply shop does tool rentals.

Wish you can do that with some high end cars.

I too just learned a few weeks ago they rent tools and you get your money back when you return. Hell of a deal to me. I am down for the new caliper too! Crazy question, Do they say Nissan on them? *a
