Dear Drifters,

Let me preface my message to you with a bit of information:

According to the Department of Justice guideline (to police) for dealing with street racing, helping to create legal racing programs is the 9th most effective way of dealing with the problem! That means there are 8 unpleasant ways that they will likely choose to deal with street drifting before helping to give us more legal events. Illegal street drifting can also have a negative impact on the few legal events we have available to us now.

I love drifting, and I know many of you do too. With the release of Fast and the Furious 3 upon us, it is time for drifters to do their part to protect the sport we love. So, how can you help? By educating the public.

*First, post this information on any car forum, myspace group or online car community that you visit.

*Second, link everyone you know that you think might see the movie to www.driftsafe.org

*Third, visit the 'Promote' section of www.driftsafe.org where you can find flyers (made by club4AG members) that you can print out and hand out at the movie.

*Fourth, contribute your thoughts, concerns, solutions and artwork to help us improve www.driftsafe.org

Thank you for reading and I hope that if you love drifting, you will help in some way.

-dp

Drift Safe aims to educate the fans, public and would be drifters about the Consequences of illegal drifting, including; the effect of illegal drifting has on the sport of drifting, consequences for individuals who participate in illegal drifting, the realities of drifting and the laws pertaining to illegal drifting.

Drift Safe is also a resource for those interested in becoming involved in legal drifting (as a fan or driver) and those already involved in drifting. We provide information on how to get involved with legal local events (for drifters and fans) and how to attend sanctioned professional events (for fans).

Good idea. If anyone knows someone who makes stickers and would want to be credited as a supporter in exchange for stickers do let us know.

Great idea (for a somewhat gay as hell cause) that will fall on deaf ears. Sorry to say, but 99% of these kids could care less about being safe and driving without fear of injury. It's cool to be ignorant and they're going to keep doing it where ever they can.

I was thinking the same thing.

You're preaching to a deaf choir. Sadly, we can only lead by example.

/\Sadly, whether you want to believe it or not, dozens of Zilvias are going to be showing off tonight aswell. Its pretty much common sense....a pretty big percentage of Zilvians are around 18-20 y/o...still immature.

I'm 20 you jackass >=( LOL

After last nights showing of it. I actually liked the movie. We kept it cool. I'll be there will be at least one cop at every movie theatre now waiting for that dumbass kid to start roasting the tires. We had two. And I dont like driving by cops with a locked diff =\

Whether or not we are preaching to a group that isn't going to hear us, I'd still rock a Drift Safe sticker on my car.

There is no safety with drifting haha. Just a few variables kept me from a trip to the hospital at evergreen speedway

There will always be stupid people on the streets that makes us 240 lovers bad names. What really matters is what you do.

I'd rock a driftsafe sticker even though I don't drift just to promote a safe drifting community. I;ve spread the work to the UCSD forum and the UCI forum.

we definately need to keep everyone safe and off the roads. I mean common, there is talk of opening an actual Drift Park up in Washington. How awesome would that be? It would keep people off the streets, but in a way it kinda contradict itself by promoting the motorsport.

It's exactly like Skateboarding, the more popular it gets, the more the community has to deal with it. To keep the skateboaders for ruining public property, they build skate parks.

Just Drift! has started an orginization called DOT or Drift On Tracks. Supported by the CHP, DOT brought examples of real drift cars to the FF3 opening night at a large theatre. There, members and CHP handed out flyers, gave some info on the cars, about drifting, educating people. Good cause.

Haha those of you who are keen will notice my car with Aaron's rear wheels. Oh man i love them 10.5 TE37s.

I used to be into street drifting pretty big. It was rad. I think most people still love it. But in this day and age... fully built car drifting on the street with a bunch of dumb movies like FF3, CHP cracking down, and drift events every week at tracks... Forget it. Not worth the risk.

Anyways, apparently my car is an Integra, Firebird, Civic (w/ conversion), Mustang, 2 door Evo, Skyline, Skyline (converted), Eclipse, and a bunch of other funny shit. WTF?!?! Most people truely do not know about cars.

Drift fucking Safe. GO to the track. Heed the Green Cone and DOT.

ive talked to this guy before, the owner of DriftLive, NissanPacific was going to get involved with them. I offered him media coverage in the northwest, but he fell through on his part.

I'm still willing to help DriftLive in a joint venture.
