i'd like to go to this one my brother just went to the one last weekend and he said it was really fun, butttttt it was like 102 degrees out so it's gonna be even warmer in july

It was not anywhere close to that hot last weekend. It felt like high 80s, low 90s. Not that bad, especially once you're on the track.
I think I'm gonna sit this one out... Horsethief is a blast but I want to get back on the Streets again and I don't think the budget has room for both.

Seriously displeased, and mad that Charlie wishes to have a monopoly on drifting at Willow.
JustDrift will never see a dollar of my money for any reason.

Ugh. Colin, way to post one side of the story. Yeah from day 1 all Charlie cared about was stealing people's money and monopolizing drifting in socal. Give me a fucking break.
You and I know SRT running events under "grip" nature but allowing drifting was not going to fly. Once WSIR saw this (ESPECIALLY at HTM) it was inevitable. WSIR made the desicion, no one else. Don't you guys go pointing fingers and blaming people based on slander and conjecture. Thats how bad blood starts and rumours get out of hand.
There's nothing more to say. Obviously SRT feel they have been wronged, and instead of accepting responsibility they blame someone else. Perhaps they should have been square with WSIR before holding "grip" aka drift events.

Agreed, Charlie is out there to have a good time and see that we call can get out there, have a good time and keep it off the streets. By no means is he trying to monopolize any venue. In fact, he assists others with events at Willow (i.e. Drift Association, Drifting Pretty and US Drift).
If what some people are inferring was true, why would he be helping these other groups? To blame the cancellation on Just Drift and/or Charlie is pure ignorance. Please don't make assumptions. However you can boycott whomever you want, thats your choice, just makes more track time for those of us that do go.

i agree this totally sucks. but i know charlie has done a lot for drifting so i cant be too mad, he probably has some good reason. same goes for WSIR, i assume they have been allowing drifting for a long time, im fairly new to it. whatever the reasons who cares. as long as there is track time it doesnt really matter.
hopefully charlie will just throw some events at HTM since that track destroys balcony and oval anyday :rawk:

I retract my previous statement.
Ugly move on Colin's part, what Charlie was concerned about should not have been made public like that.
I apoligize Charlie / JD, LET'S DRIFTING! SAFELY!

Seriously displeased, and mad that Charlie wishes to have a monopoly on drifting at Willow.

You sir don't know one thing about charlie and look like a dumbass making comments like that. We don't want you out at JD if that's what you think of Charlie. Charlie is the fucking man. He's been here since the beginning giving us real tracks to drive on and has shown support and provided help to a whole shitload of drifting organizations.
SRT is the group that fucked up. They ran an illegal drift event at HTM. All of us at JD have been dying to do HTM but we've been patiently waiting until we could legally do it. Under the rules of willow springs, in able to drift on HTM requires two things: a roll bar and advanced driver status among us drifters. We've been waiting until enough people got cages to do it because we've already got plenty of talent that are able to handle that course.
To bad mouth Charlie about what happened to SRT is stupid. If you want to take it up with anyone, take it up with WSIR. They are the ones unhappy with SRT.
I personally thought about doing an SRT event due to the fact that it seemed like you were legally allowed to drift on HTM at there events. With "Grip and SLIP" in the title, it seemed like somehow they were putting on a legitimate drift event but something didn't seem right. Then I got word WSIR was mad about the event and this shit doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
Let me reiterate that Just Drift is awesome and it's sad to hear anybody bad mouthing our organization and Charlie.
Fuck the rumors and JUST DRIFT!!!!!

Quit bringing me into this, I'm not the one saying it.
I go to JD events, I like JD events, I like charlie.
SRT is blaming wsir (who is blaming charlie) and wsir is blaming SRT. blame game BS and I DO NOT WANT TO BE INVOLVED.
I'm just a fan of drifting.

also, I'm gona quote flybert on this for those of you who are pissed:
If you want to take it up with anyone, take it up with WSIR.
^that's what I told someone to do on another forum, and it's what I recommend too.
To Charlie, WSIR is blaming it on SRT.
To SRT, WSIR is blaming it on Charlie.
WSIR is playing the middle road to avoid getting pissed at by both parties.
I'm not gona say "get pissed at _____" in regards to any of this, I'm gona go drive at whoever provides events and continue to try to enjoy drifting.

I apologize for the riled-up post. As a track-day junkie, I am a big supporter of SRT for providing GRIP track days for low prices and without mega-ghey gigantic run groups. Thus, my emotions ran high and I may have been wrong to say what I said in my first line without any evidence to prove my view. However, my second line stands. If y'all want to hate, hate on me. Colin simply conveyed the sentiments of SRT and they were in no way his own.
I think it's interesting that the owner of WSIR came to the first Slip and Grip and had a conversation (not lecture, not correction, what seemed to me to be just a normal conversation) with SRT regarding the nature of the event and allowed the second one to continue. Perhaps something happened at the second that he did not like but now I have to go to events organized by someone else and have to deal with traffic on the track. That still leaves me disgruntled, regardless of whom should be blamed.
