irradic smoking after rebuild

have had this weird smoking issue after rebuild. engine starts smoking after about 5 mintues of idling. first i thought it was the turbo, so i took that out and had the car sit and idle with an open exhaust manifold. idled just fine for about 5 min, then started smoking a bit. blue smoke - oil. also idle changes and becomes a bit rough when that happens. did a compression test, same as the day the motor was put back together. 155 all throughout the 4 cylinders. i'm using 8.8:1 arias pistons. talked to ivan at AMS - compression test #'s are find according to him.

the car does not smoke 100% of the time. smokes while driving, and after idling for a while..

any ideas? help would be greatly appreciated.
