whats the fattest width of tire you can put on the stock steelies for the s13... (i want them a little meety to help launch) <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>
If I'm not mistaken, the widest you can safely go is 205mm in width on the 6" steelies (are the alloy wheels 6.5"? if so you can go 1 step up) "proper" sizing is 195mm. You may be able to go 215, but you'd probably have to get a certain tire manufacturer whose tires tend to be 'tight' on the wheel.
FWIW I have 205/55/15s on my stock S13 steelies, and it's got a slight bulge. 215 might cause excessive sidewall "rolling" (flex?) in turns, and may simply be unsafe.

All factory wheels for the S13 were 15x6, both steelies and alloys. The S14 base model wheels are also 15x6.
I run 205/60-15's on the stock steel wheels. 205/60-15 was the tire size you got from the factory if your S13 came with alloys. 205/55-15 will work too but I wanted a taller tire.
205's are about the widest 15" tires you can usually find, anyway. It's a shame because I'd love to get some 15x7 alloys and run 225/55-15.

I wouldn't do that if i were you...215 is pretty freakin wide, and if your car is pretty much stock then you don't really need anything over 205mm. just my $.02
