so I was searching on this for a while found some posts here and on Freshalloy also went to the AE86 and Miata sites. My question here is has anyone done this is in a 240sx....
and if so how where did you foam, what density did you use, and did you like the result?
:hammer: been searching on this forever...even read that SCC article just want to see if anyone has done this is a 240sx.

Search ziptied. Read write-up and following posts. Any more questions on where to find it, search on Google.
Done.

because most race cars ive seen at the track or worked on dont even use that stuff EVER... to me its some ricer idea that seems practical but not logical in a sense... why would u on a street car????
I've seen some guys use expanding foam that you'd get from home depot or any other hardware store. They say the can feel the added stiffness in their chassis. Although I personally cannot verify if it's true, it's believable because that stuff gets hard as hell when fully cured.
It's easy to do and cheap. I'd give it a try.

who said anything about home depot foam. I was looking more into the Foamseal structual foam (8lbs/in^3) which has been proven to strenghten the chassis. Read some SAE papers about it, it doesn't seem like ricer stuff to me. Anyway the only reason I'm looking into this is that, I don't really want a cage, it's relatively easy-ish looking, and somewhat cheap.

Don't ever use Home Depot crap, it won't fully cure in your frame rails and it's not structural at all. Infiniti uses it in the Q45 stock, and it is proven to increase rigidity. There's no such thing as too much chassis rigidity. I plan on doing this (heck yeah) and searched around for forever, even started a thread like this one, but no one seems to have done it or they're keeping the secret from us. I'm going to use the stiffest stuff I can get, I think 10lbs/in^3.

The stuff SCC used. All it took was looking through ziptied.
