I have a 92 240sx coupe with a Black top... Anyways after driving my car for a while with a couple of friends i notice my tranny is slightly grinding in between gears just here and there so i look underneath my car and i spot some gear oil "i know it was gearoil cause i gave it a good taste taste with my finger" so i drive home. thought maybe it was jsut from racing and it blew a little out the breather on top of the tranny so the next night went to race a GT drove there fine no porblems well when i get into the car try to put in it first grinded like hell so i was like f this .. went got gear oil drained the rest out .. put the 3half qrts in or what not today wake up going to my girls house to pick her up ... notice its grinding again so pull off the road into a church look under the car and gear oil is pouring ..not out the rear where the drive shaft is but from the top right where the breather is ...... get it 2 a freinds house and look again to make sure it wasnt coming from anywhere else and only that side of the tranny is covered...
so is there any lines that run on the breather on the tranny .. if so where do they go... or anyoneelse had this problem...
cant figure anything out:bash:

If I understand right, your rear seal where the drive shaft is blown, replace it and you should be good.

I may be wrong since his grammar is horrible. I think he said its NOT leaking from the rear seal, but from the breather at the top of the bell housing.
In which case, I had this problem too.
I filled my tranny as specified, but after driving the whole side of the tranny would be covered in oil. It leaks out because its too full. I never refilled mine and I have no problems. It may just be your syncros going or a bad tranny.

get some real MT fluid instead of just gear oil.
when you fill it, do it the right way. when the tranny is cold, stick your finger in the fill hole. if it's right up to the bottom of the hole, you're good.
do you have a rubber hose running on the breather?
oh, and you don't have to taste the oil... gear/tranny oil has a very distinctive smell. just sniff it next time! lol.

ive had this problem ever since i got myself a obx short shifter from a friend. what happened is on the stock shifter there is a rubber boot that seals the shifter. the obx is a different design then stock because theyre a pos company and make stupid shit so i had no rubber seal there(which if anyone knows where i can buy one or whatever lemme know, i just made something temporarily) but point being my tranny would leak out from there, and even though i filled it to level....it would leak fromthe top and that caused my shit to grind also and my second gear syncro started going bad....so make sure you have a rubber boot sealing the top of your shifter.
