hmm I was just thinking about it and realized noone talks about sr heads and rebuilds very much here. I know I should go to FA for more info. but anyone here ever rebuild their head, or have theirs rebuilt, and actually know what the machine shop did. (im sure theres quite a few here). what exact things did you do. what kind of prices did it cost for the certain machining that got done. Just curious about peoples experiences. since I know head rebuilding can cost $$$$$$$$$$.
Right now I have to sort things out on my donor head since it came with all the parts in a scattered disaray. It came with new valves and hks springs. and was dirt cheap too. so I figure i will re shim it, and bleed the hvla's. what other measurements should be taken?. I know that there are hundred or more measurements to be taken on the head, but what are some things that should deffinitely be looked at. ehh i guess any discussion on this topic would be useful. Ill be searching around, but just wanted some input from you guys who have had this done, what kind of things did you take care of while it was off the engine.
