I have been spilling drinks quite a bit with my 240sx, now that I have a job that involves lots of fast food and the fast that I drive a stick.
What do you guys do with your drinks?
And more importantly, any idea for cupholders that don't block vents?

u hold it w/ your left hand. and drive/shift w/ your right, as simple as that. usually i don't bring food to my car, 'cause it makes the car smell, and ur risking of staining...

I have to agree with meowth, i NEVER carry that nasty fast food in my car, thats why I have a box in the trunk. As for drinks, I don't really call that square thing on the S14 a cupholder, so its either in my hand or not in the car

s13: pull out the change tray thing and stick your drink there. Makes shifting difficult but it's the price you have to pay.

i've seen some cup holders that mount on the side of the consol, .. so like.. when they are open, they would partially block the passengers leg room... problem is,, i went searchin for you.. and couldn't find them again .. so,, if anyoen finds this ? let us know,, and link us 2 it.. caus i want one 2..

what i say was this black thing that had a push button,, so u hit it,, and it flipped two cup holder things down... (wow i suck at explaining stuff).. anyhow.. yeah.. let us know.

I was just about to say that. It's totally the way to go.

But, this whole thread reminds me of an article I read someplace regarding the S2000. They talk all about the body, the engine, the interior, the suspesion, etc .. ya know, normal car review stuff. Then, the last sentence of the article wrapped everything up with: "And then Honda added two things hardly needed in a sports car, unless you plan on selling it America: cruise control and cup holders."

So well said. =)

s13:

Most drinks can fit in the change holder after taking it out.
Redbull can fit in the side panel pockets.
Fast food drinks can fit in in between the side panel and your seat.

s14:

Your screwed. The factory "Cup Holder" is a total POS.

It's not that bad!! With the s14 I put that little divider in the center and it grips big gulps alright, it is just a pain in the ass when shifting, but I don't eat THAT much in the car... I have seen people with those little things you put on a vent.... they are alright, but I wouldn't use one.

I can agree that cupholders are unnessasary in a sports car, but cruise control? It has it's purpose, like when a cop is behind you on the highway, you can set it for a hair over the speed limit so you don't have to check the speedo every 10 seconds to make sure you're not speeding.

HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH, i remember that, the orange pop, and he is just spining out and the drink is right in the middle, that was the coolest thing i ever saw, i might have to get a Deville Coupe with a A Track converted into a 6 speaker staerio like he had, it was so ghetto, haha, that movie owned

(He also had a orange pop machine in his car, that rocked)

passengers have a purpose.....

common statement in my car:
me: here hold this
pas: no you hold it!
me: you want me to crash and us die?
pas: ok give it to me

the worst is trying to drink from king size burger king cups (i dont use straws) when you sip, you cant see
i end up turning my head sideways and watching with one eye while drinking

Hold drinks between your legs.

Thats what I did until I got my cup holder. It's the kind that blocks one of the vents, but no big deal, since I dont have AC anyways.

If i want climate control, I just adjust how much open my window is haha.

Don't you have like 10 cup holders in your car? I remember seeing a grip of them on your vents?

yea, this is a good time to have an auto.. lol. you can bust that "undercover brother" move... u know, do the wax on wax off turning method and hold the big gulp of orange soda in the other, lol. TURN UP THE FUNK..... .. soolliiid...

anyways, i have this cupholder that looks like a like spring, I just took that out (the springs which hole the sides of the drink) and put it in the factory s14 cupholder location, so my drinks dont tip over.

You might look like an idiot to people watching you drive, but nonetheless you'll be happy.

I wonder if AutoX would permit that as a helmet?

I drive an s13, and i've noticed that if you pull the passenger's seat back all the way, there's a little area near the drivers side of it that comes really close to the back seat. In the little corner that's made there, larger drinks fit really well. I've carried a number home from burger king that way.

It's an odd solution, but hey, it works

Buy the wedgie at walmar if you have an s13 it will hold 2 cups and it goes between the console and front passenger. it looks great....like stock a little coke can will slide around in it a bit but a mcdonalds king size coke does just fine .... plus its only $5.00 its the perfect cupholder they should have put in the 240's....those sons of bitches

It's called the wedgie? I'll have to look for it. I am just having trouble visualizing it, where does it go?
Thanks
I thought I was going to have to make/modify my own.

I think I have the best method! YOu know the lever that pops the gas/trunk open? Well I sit with the far enough back that I can snugly fit a can or 20oz bottle in between there

I like to put my drinks in between the lower part of the door and seat...no problems spilling drinks.

I take out the cigerette thing on the console and place the drink in the void it leaves. Works well for one drink anyway.
