the set up is going well..the shifter is a little forward but we will cut and bend and correct it....motor mounts will be worked on in the next comming days....
since im not running a.c im going to move the engine a little forward which gives me alot more room around the engine and room to work....i will be putting my electric fans in front of the koyo radiator for extra clearance
the tansmission tunnel fits the tranny just fine...a custom mount will connect to a stock s13 vlsd rear end...
comments and such are welcomed...i have worked slowly on this project for over 2 years now...so its very excting to see it where it is today...hopefully running by the end of the month..

thanks for the compliments....
i decided on the motor because ive allways had turbo 2jz engines and love the durability and power potential of the supra motors...love 6cyl torque and exahust note.......so i wanted a 2jz at 1st....but i wanted a manual car and wanted to keep prices down..this is just a fun project for street driving.....occasional road course scca fun and occasional drag fun...i want it to be an all around car..and felt the 1jz would fit my price and power wants just fine.....i want 400-500 rwhp on boost with a mid size single turbo and nitrous...like a 100 shot for fun times drag racing......
so a 1jz for 2800 complete...full clip vs a 5000-6500 2jz 6spd clip seemed more reasonable...and i can mod this motor to my power goals with the exta $$$
as i complete the mounting and get it running ill update with pics

this is going to be a one time fabrication....plus im putting my engin very forward...most people will want a/c and have theres further back....
but it is a very do able swap so far...just need a half way decent fabricator shop and you wil be able to pull it off...
one thing though.you need a front sump oil pan for the 1jz....
DJPimpFlex
05-24-2006, 05:51 PM
^most people will want the motor futher back to offset the weight of the motor. Fuck AC! lol Good shit man, thats going to be cool once its done.

Nice work! Looks like your trannymay rubb the right side of the tranny tunnel. Hammer time?
sc300turbo
05-24-2006, 07:35 PM
for the tranny tunnel that was early in the day before final mark up...final position gives me plenty of room all around....
as for weight balance...there really isnt a major significant differance between the 2.4 kat and 1jz...1jz is heavier but minimaly and with no a/c up font...battery in back....it should be a wash as far as weight balance...i will scale the car later both for weight and corner balance.....also solid engine mounts will keep everything from even comming close to rotating and rubbing....
and as far as moving forward..im talking an inch or 2 forward...thats it.....

What are your plans for the future? Grip, Drift, or hard park? Looks like a nice project. Keep up the good work. And keep us updated.
sc300turbo
06-07-2006, 11:13 AM
future plans are a small to mid size single turbo and alot of suspension work.....i love all kinds of racing..so i want a set up i could take to the drag strip and hit 10s in...but i also wanna do some road racing...down here in miami theres some groups that run down at homestead miami speedway...and id really like to do that too....im not really into drifting..but i do enjoy sliding out the rear end here and there....we will see how it goes.....im not closed minded to anything with this car...
this car is just build for fun ...as a weekend toy.....my daily driver is a turbo lexus......
so i wanna set it up as a great performing all around car.....
my goal is 2500lb car with 500-600 reliable rwhp
lets see how close i can get

please share the info on the wiring/mounts! i wanted to turbo my 240, but then, after doing a little research, it should cost about the same to have a 1jz swapped in (doing the wiring yourself, with someone doing the fab work) as to have a sohc turbo kit. you could have more reliable streetable power from the 1jz also...good luck! i would love to follow your steps soon...heheheh

Thats a pretty nice. The 1jz is one of few 6 cylinder engines I would put in my car.

as for updates..
brand new steel braided fuel lines are run..fuel tank was dropped and cleaned....2 year old gas is nasty!!!
added in my walbro fuel pump
picking up the modified koyo radiator today....
engine tranny and drive shaft are complete.....new water pump...timming belt...valve cover gaskets and grommets...plugs are nice and clean....new redline tranny fluid.....redline synthetic motor oil....are in....coolant is ready to go once i get the radiator back and my wiring guy is comming over today to look at it.....
im hoping by the next 2 weeks it will be driving.....
ill keep ya posted...

its been a long tough road...but im loving working on the car...the car was starte then dies...lost ignition...couldnt figure out why......turrned out when i swapped the water pump and all i managed t pinch the crank angle sensor and shorted the wires.....finally tracked it down and got it started agian to realize the stock twin turbos were bad.......swapped those....got it started agian...now need to finish wiring...get the custom exahust made......get intercooler piping made.....and bleed the clutch line...thats beeen a pin in my ass for something that should be so easy...
hoping to get it driving by jan....
ill post some newer pics tommorrow...

Ditch the clutch line loop if you still have it. Impossible to bleed with that trash in there.
sc300turbo
12-04-2006, 05:09 AM
the clutch line loop is removed and i did a custom line because the slave is now on the drivers side of the car......
i made a custom steel braided line with fittings but could never get fluid to come out of the bleeder screw.....i replaced the slave cylinder and tried agian...nothting...i made a custom hard line and got fluid to finally come out of the bleeder screw now i need to get a friend to pump while i try to bleeed....
im praying to get it going...i cant wait to drive the piss out of this car
i still need to buy a carbon fiber hoood too...

well look at this thread, look at the later light blue pics with the triple projectors, look at the pic of the oil pan on his install, then match that pic to the oil pan of the 1JZ in that same colored car upside down in the article.
question: How many dual projector with yellow fog lights light blue 1JZ S13s are there out there?

You can see it missing here, only a downpipe. Also, that doesn't look like an SR/KA tranny, but that could just be the lighting throwing me off.

yea but as soon as the car's vin is entered into the system you will know everything about the car. also the will track down the last known owner and find out who they sold it to. its not a difficult process...its basically a carfax but on a higher level with more info available. btw im gonna go out on a limb here, but id say whoever they visit to talk about the car, the guy in a body cast might be your guy i dont know how anyone can just get up and get out of that one and get back to life like normal. this guy has got to be standing out like a sore thumb its only a matter of time till they find him...Chez

Stupid fucking street racers. Have to try and show off how cool their cars are and now someone is dead. Keep it off the streets and on the track. Crazy coincidence btw.

ok, so you guys are saying that you will not crash unless your out screwing around? things happen every day just driving normal and its dumb for people to talk about how bad it is because they were screwing around...like it makes it different or something

+1 Screwing around on the streets just increases the risk and how much damage you can do. Not only that, but you endanger others, people you don't know.

Id rather die in a bed in my home an old man surrounded by family and friends rather than bleeding out on the highway with broken bones cause i felt the need to show off...but thats just me...i guess dying in a drifting accident is cool tho:ugh:
and yeah i would really like more info on this swap has anyone done a real write up on this?? i cant find one.. 1jz seems like a good alternative to any nissan I6 if its not too complicated...searched around and 1jz's are pretty cheap compared to a sr or rb...so seriously someone should post or do a detailed write up:bigok:

so in 4 months time he can't get the car painted, aero, 5 lug conversion and new wheels?
anyway, who cares?! a couple people have already said that it's not him b/c they know him. So as long as there not just covering for him then that wasn't his car. Give it a rest...

Guys how about the fact that, although this swap is sweet and looks badass, it isn't the first time it's been done, I know of someone here in Tampa doing it to. Also, who does this quality of work on their car and then changes wheels from those sweet ass longchamps to boot leg ruff racing wheels? Hello, would any of you put that time and money into a car and then ruin it with ruff racing rims? Also, Orlando and Miami are not right next to each other???

"That can't be his car. It's a different color, has different wheels, and a body kit. You guys all know those things are permanent and irreversable."
Give it up, until the original poster responds with an update and pics everyone is gonna think it's him.
Plus it's Zilvia. GROUP MENTALITY. Just like the witches of Salem, you're guilty until innocent.

Quit with the bickering, i was the one (after S14 DB brought up the subject) that ask the question. we ar not trying to burn anyone here, just asking a simple question. i am not jumping to conclusions, but I am sure an IP check can be done if it hasn't already, and someone is wayyyyyy defensive.
anyways what is done is done, don't hassle the guy, i am sure that if the owner gets caught that he will have plenty of time to think it over.
if not still waiting for the thread starter's take on it.
