if it's for and sr, Pepperoni make a good one and for a damn good price too. It doesn't include the filter, but that's all you really need. BTW, what engin is this for?
cheapest thing ever is the adapter plate from from schucks its like 4 bucks. and some shitt cone filter.

its for a k and i already have the adapter plate and cone filter but i noticed it was extremely hot after driving for a while and wanted to make a cold air intake without using the chrome like 200 dollar ones
make an air box around it to seperate it from the engine bay. cut a hole below it and put a little scoop or something to ram air up in there.
I belive my MAIN overheating problem is that fact. The header is 12inches away from my intake.

Actually, there have been documented improvements on the KA by replacing the factory intake pipe (project 240sx from Sport Compact Car in '98).
Here's a dyno chart comparing an Apex'i filter and Maf adapter on the stock intake tube to an Injen intake pipe...

If you're looking to save some coin, check out ebay. They have cheap intakes (cold air too).

Intakes can gain you a lot. I gained around 25 whp by going from a stock intake tube to a 3 inch pipe on an sr. Turbo was gt2871r gt-rs style. This is an extreme case though and the boost was at 20psi.

Guess you've never heard of Ebay. Full intake with tube can be had for $30 all day long.

$40 shipped. also, never buy the one that has a green tube. the green tube fits like shit. it's the cheapest one so i bought it, it fits like shit.

Just do what I did, make a home made ram air! Plenty of cold air to bless a small village.

Check out www.ka24development.com and poke around.
The dyno chart was from a '97.
Car was a california model: dyno chart had JWT cams, JWT ecu, Hotshot header, Random Tech cat, Injen intake, and 3" N1 exhaust.

I was under the impression that Ebay intakes were to small (diameter) and might actually rob HP. Maybe i'm wrong?

no holes...the stock airbox had its own hole through the frame so i just routed it through there

what do you guys think about 3" intake vs. 2.5" intake piping?

You can only suck in as much air as your filter can flow. I.E., if you have a 3in pipe w/a 2.5in filter, then the extra diamater of your intake tube wont matter . . . things could actually bottleneck before the throttle body making things worse.

ah.. and you just put that piping stuff through the hole that used to be for that random resonator box right? I'm assuming you still kept your drop in filter n all that stuff correct?

I replaced my air box just with a filter as in a intake.....the RAM AIR pipe just brings up fresh air rather then the intake sucking up the hot circulatory air that just is illuminating off the engine. I've driven with it like this for 15k rain/snow/tornandos and Stampedes no problemo!
........poop!

I find it very odd that these 2 posts came within 8 minutes of one another from the same IP address, from users who share an email address as well? It would seem almost as if you are talking to yourself.
FAIL, I will now ban the newer of the screen names and ask that you don't start a new account, lest I will ban them all.

yokotas13,
You want the dyno?
jason from hybridynamics has it. They have a contact number, call them and ask them for the dyno, and give them business while your at it.
Don't come on and be rude on someone else's thread. Dyno chart would have been plentiful enough.
The stock rubber peice on the sr can be restrive. Going to a straight 3 inch pipe allows for more flow. Not only is the pipe bigger, but the air is not as turbulent because the coil spring in the intake tube is now gone.
