I'm looking to buy an electronic boost controller, I have heard that the old profec b is a good ebc simple to adjust and holds boost without spikes, the profec b's seem to be hard to find though because they don't produce them anymore, I see Profec spec S's on ebay what do you guys think about those. I've heard some bad things about the profec b specII thats why I'm hesitant to buy one. I'm looking to spend below $300 what other ebc's are good for the price?

thanks

I have an old profec b, its pretty damn easy to use. Theres only 2 buttons and 3 knob. On, select(hi/low boost), hi boost knob, low boost knob and gain knob. Spec 2s are a pain in the ass to dial in but work well when set up correctly. Ive never worked with a type S myself. Now that I look, type S is pretty much the same as the old profec. Cant be any worse.

This may all be heresay but back when the Spec - S came out everyone was having problems with spikes, which is why greddy made the Spec B II or whatever.

The Profec B is super easy to use and very reliable.

Blitz boost controllers are awesome, I dunno if there are any under 300$ though.

i got a profec b II and having a hard time learning this thing,, i got spikes for some reason or another.. so i just have it turned off and runnin stock til i figure /learn it.

The type S is looking pretty good in my books right now, looks to be more simple instead of programing.

The profec B II is very easy to use once you get the hang of it.

From my experience the Profec B spec I is the fucking JAM. (i have one and have 0 problems whatsoever). The Spec II is a pain in the ass, but if you understand it, it works really well. But the Spec I was so much more intuitive and simple that Greddy re-realeased it (albeit all jazzed-up and mondern looking) as the Spec-S.

Spec I = Spec-S.

EWWW. AVC-R is like... Hi I like to spike and not work properly.

I admit, I've seen them work real good on maybe... 1.5 cars. But other than that.... my friends you set to 1.7bar and actual boost pressure is 2.2bar!!!

WTF.

Get that crap outta here!
