From some reading on the forums it seems the correct idle is suppose to be 750 I think, but Im not sure if thats for automatics also. My car in park, I think idles @ 1200... I know above 1k for sure. When I put in D or R I think it goes to around 700 or 800. Is this normal, or is it suppose to be 750 in park also?
Also how do I fix this problem, by Iacv? Think I read your suppose to unplug the tps 1st, adjust to XXX, plug the tps back in and it should be 750. Just I'm not sure what the xxx amount you adjust to is. Also when you adjust it should stay set in place correct?
Any help is appreicated.

Turn your AC off :)
KA24DE is supposed to idle around 650-750. Give a few revs, then unplug the TPS and adjust your timing to factory spec (20 btdc, iirc). That has to be done first because timing will change the idle some. After that's done, adjust the iacv idle bolt (back pass. side of motor, near EGR crap) to get the idle to 650ish. After that plug back in the TPS and you should be idling a lot closer to 750ish.
If that doesn't get it to where it should be, you could have a vac leak somewhere.

if it only does up right when you start the car, it's normal.
iirc 240sx has an accelerated warm up system that runs a fast idle until the car warms up a little, just like the majority of other cars out there.

Maybe it is just during warm up. I seem to only pay attention when I first start the car for the day. I'll check one day when Im out after a couple starts and see. Thanks, I never thought about that

alright its kool guys. I just took a couple mins, and left my car running. Sure enough once the temp gauge reached hafl way as norm, the idle was 750. Thanks for doing away with my worries. I was dreading having to by anymore factory parts for a while, so I can start getting around to mods lol.

Being a 91 yours would be a DE also, so I would think its suppose to be 750 also? Wish I could give out help like these guys do for me sometimes, but this being my first 40, I dunno much more than any other new owner would.
