and I DID SEARCH for about 3 days now and didnt find shit to answer my question, I'm boldly going to ask, since this is a 300 dollar decision and if you want to flame, well then dont even bother responding, im not a newb, just someone who has never run this setup and I dont know how it will respond, im not a track junky or a tech guru with all the answers. at any rate here is the question,

17x8 +35 offset, front wheels s13 What is the Largest tire I can run on stock suspension without rubbing and NO SPACER. Right now I just ordered 235/40/17 I want to keep it a ???/40/17(obviously).

I greatly appreciate any HELPFUL responses. As I didnt realize that spacers suck until now. I just ordered them today so hopefully they can send me different tires if I let them know tomarrow morning. thanks again.

BTW a tire calculator tells me it will be .6 inch closer to suspension components than stock setup, and the height is minimal. I could take measurements and say ok it is either < or > than .6, but i dont know how it works when turning and what not, I assume all that matters is it doesnt hit the suspension setup, (i know it is rediculously close anyhow, but I think that is just the Height issue, anyway.

what calculator did you use? this one has been pretty helpful to me....

I'm running a 60 series with my 95' it calls for a 205 55 16 but I found a good deal on some Michelin's... I initially had problems with it rubbing on the finder guards and it felt like driving a boat, but after a while I got use to them...

donno but at any rate, it seems to be fitting fine right now, the only thing is when I took my stock wheels off, I noticed some scraping on the inside of the tire, like why would that happen especially on stock. so I would have to think it is not from rubbing, but if it is, and its very minimal, it could be worse now with this setup, maybe with suspension travel? since right now it deff has clearance, although very little. im talking about the spring perch. but that should be completely stationary right, or does it flex during stress enough to rub tire?

you're talking about the strut which the spring sits on right?... I've never had it rub on the top of my tires... I doubt that it will flex.... it's bolted down to where the wheel is bolted to.

well the top clearance is not my prob, the inside clearance is what im worried about, im just hoping that scraping on the tire was there already or some other problem, i dono ill see.

oh I see... hey you got me. I've never ran into that problem. I do know that the stock front 300zx wheel will scrub while turning. It's a 225 50 16 tire and the wheel is 7.5 with a +45 offset

you realize the middle number is going to change when you go wider, right?
in a 205/40/17, the 40 is a percentage of the width

do you see any rubbing in your fender well?

pank, yes i realize it will change as like you said profile is a varying number. I dont see any rubbing at all right now. there is about 1/4 inch clearance from the suspension, its not gonna rub the well at all. I think im gonna be fine, it was just what i saw from my stock tire that worries me, but o well we will see what happens.
