i just got this r33 front clip last night so i thought id post some pictures and maybe make this into a swap progress thread. it probly wont be as good as some of the other guys threads though. like KoukiS14 and Tenchuu. but anyway heres some pics of the clip and all the stuff i bought with it. it didnt come with any "extras" other than a k&n air filter, a hks bov, and some JDM cigarette butts in the ashtray (dont worry ill post pics haha).

the sr is for sale. it has low compression though. i made a forsale thread awhile back. heres the link http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?p=968883#post968883
i will have alot of parts for sale pretty soon. not sure how involved i want to get with selling stuff right now. im gonna be busy with work and trying to finish the swap. if theres alot of interest i might start selling stuff off.

if you do the swap yourself, how much would the wiring cost to get done by a pro?

i am doing the swap myself. i dont know how much it costs for proffessional wiring service. i would imagine anywhere from $250-$400. and thats if you have everything they need(both complete harnesses).
THE SR20 IS OUT!!! its 2 am and i just got the sr out so im going to bed. ill post pics up tomorrow. things are going smoothly so far. one word of advice, when you pull your old motor out, remember to take the shifter out so your $60 NISMO shift knob doesnt get ruined. i wondered what it was that was getting hung up, but then it was too late to take it off. oh well. its not really ruined, just chewed up a bit. stay tuned. later.

edgar: i got the clip from jarco. if you havent heard of them they are out of georgia. i think i got a pretty good deal on it. alot of people from cali have been telling me that i couldve gotten a real clean one maybe with lower miles and more extras for cheaper. but the shipping from cali to central illinois is $1000+.

the most fun thing about buying a front clip is that you get to pull 2 motors instead of just one. i guess i got so into it that i forgot to take pictures of the steps i took before pulling the rb. im sure you all know what its like tho.

as i was pulling the motor out i discovered this...

it looks bad in the picture, but it looks worse in person. i dont think im going to bother banging out the dents. ill probly just get a new one.
then when i was pulling off the transmission i found this!

its an HKS twin disc race clutch with a matching HKS light weight flywheel. worth close to $2000 new. so im pretty excited about that. i also checked the turbo for shaft play and there is virtually none. now its time to buy up all the new parts. belts and water pump are the main things. take care of the preventative maintenence. well thats it for now. stay tuned.

Very nice surprise on that clutch!!! Looks good keep us updated!

thanks. yeah the only problem is that the clutch discs look worn but i cant tell if they need replaced. i measured the material on each disc but i dont know what the minimum is before needing to be replaced. i tried to get the measurement of the new discs by calling HKS but they were of no help. everyone ive talked to says to replace them just to be safe. i probobly will replace them. i dont like to cut corners, especially on a swap this expensive. id rather not have to pull the transmission off as soon as i get the car running again and find out the clutch slips.

Id just use it if it was me since im poor... As long as it doesnt look worn to shit. If you think you can spare the $$$ then go for it

well i cant really "spare" the cash. i just buy whatever i need. if it means longer till i can get the motor in and running, oh well. id rather take care of stuff now then later on down the road. i also have alot of stuff to sell so whatever money i make i can put towards parts i need to finish the swap.
