Need help. . im trying to get the tranny back in but need to lower engine in order for it to clear. . does anyone know how to do this?? thank u!!
Loosen the engine mounting bolts and use a cherry picker to pull the front of the engine up to bring it to a better angle to slide the tranny in.

Yea, put a jack on the frunt of the motor, like on the crank pulley, jack it up and it will tilt the back of the motor down.

That's a good suggestion. I should copy it into the 'How can I bend my crank pulley' thread. :ughd: :ughd: :ughd: :ughd: :goyou: :goyou: :goyou: :goyou:

why do you need to lower the engine, i put back my tranny back in with out lowering the engine. just turn the tranny upsidedown so the the starter hump is pointing down that way you have more clearence to raise the tranny up.

It didn't bend mine.
Also you arent putting stress on the pulley, just useing it to pivot the motor on the mounts.
You can tilt the motor by hand to get the back down, you just can't steady it.

Best way is using a cherry picker like someone mentioned above...
Using the crank pully as a jacking point is not a good idea...

Another ghetto suggestion...leave the downpipe and use a scissory jack to pull the engine down...like i said, its a ghetto suggestion that ive tried and it worked.

UNBOLT the downpipe. The engine will tilt easily towards the firewall.
I know I've said that at least 100 times in here. Strange no one bothers to search.
