phew, I am glad I did not bet any money on this one. I really wanted Tyson to win.
Funniest Quote form tyson (during a press conference, talking to a male reporter):

I started cracking up when I heard him say that. Tyson is one funny guy.

Why the fuck would anyone in their right mind want Tyson to win? He's a dirty fighter (though he wasn't this time) and he's insane on top of it...Anyways, I saw the fight and was very pleased to see Tyson get his ass handed to him in 7 of the 8 rounds that were fought.

Anyone else think this fight was unfair seeing as Lews is 6'5 and Tyson is 5'11? not to mention that lewis also has reach and height and weight on tyson?

Tyson when he was in his prime was the best fighter. He is the hardest hitter ever from a left or a right. What really pissed me off is that after the fight he thanked Lewis for the great payoff. He also said that he respected Lewis and that they were friends...WTF. How does Tyson go from bittin Lewis in the leg and telling him he's going to "eat your children," to saying thanks for the payday and we're friends. He even stroked Lewis in the post fight interview.
Basically Tyson knew this was his last shot to get a good payday....like 17 million because he's over now and will never make that much in a fight again. He's not the same fighter he used to be and as much as I used to love watching him fight I feel he sold out on this fight...he just wanted the money not the title.

I think Tyson was on Prozzac. What's with him being so nice to everyone? That announcer at the end really needed an ass kicking! He was trying to start a fight between lewis and tyson!!

Tyson is simple to understand, he will say anything to inflame people, cause he knows that is how he gets the best payoffs. He started off as a bit of a bad boy, has always been a little cheap, but know he does it for shits and giggles cause he knows thats what people want him to do... that and he is mentally retarded. Look after the fight, he was holding a freakin baby... I don't care if it was his or whatever... it's all publicity. Lewis beat him cause he's better, bitch all you want, lewis IS a boring fighter to watch when he is defensive, but he knew how to tear apart tyson and he did... Tyson looked like shit, and Lewis looked like he was out for tea and crumptes after the fight... You want cheap, look at the lump Hollyfield gave Rahman... That was an easy DQ... and then to keep punching that fuggin pumpkin on his head... gross. I am glad Lewis won, maybe Tyson will finally die off and retire for real, all he is doing now is shitting on a once great career.

Tyson is not that bad of a guy. I was watching some thing on Tyson on ESPN and the guy is on anti-depressants and some other legal drugs, but when it comes time to fight and train they have to take him off the drugs. And just liek any normal person whose on those drugs would go a little crazy when they are taken off of them.
But you have to admit Tyson is one hell of a boxer, he was almost undefeated at the age of 17 and 18 in the ameatures. When he entered the pros he was the best and youngest champ ever. When his first trainer died and Don King took over he wasn't getting enough training. Thats y he lost to Buster Douglass. I think it is more Don Kings fault than tysons.

Tyson was a great boxer, one of the best but his time is past. In his prime is still think he would have beat Lewis but hey....that's never gonna happen so all we can do is remember Tyson when a fight wouldn't go past 4 rounds.

Tyson sucks, Lewis sucks. Neither are great boxers. The last great heavyweight boxers were in the 60's and 70's. Since then, every single heavyweight has sucked. Yeah, sure, they can kick the shit out of anyone in a boxing match, but they're not good boxers, they're just big and strong. I didnt even wanna see that shit, and I'm surprised Tyson lasted that long - he really hasnt been tested since the late 80's/early 90's. You want to watch a fight? Watch the undercard, and turn it off when the heavyweight fight comes on. Also, check out on June 20 (I think) Barrera/Morales II. The first one was like the best fight I've ever seen. All fighting, not hugging like heavyweights.
EDIT: We Cubans take our boxing seriously...

I don't want to get into a huge argument here, but I have to say something. Jabs are not cheap punches and those are what did the damage. Lewis was landing them all fight long, Tyson wasn't blocking a single one. You could see that it was not Lewis that was clinching once the fight got past the third round, it was Tyson.
Tyson would have his 10 second flury at the beginning of the round and then play it conservative the rest of the round...that's how the whole fight went, with the acception of round 1. Tyson had to play this one cool though because he wants to get reinstated in Las Vegas so that he can take home the real prize money, the Mephis fight was nothing compared to what Vegas can put on.
It'd be nice to see an American Champion (that is some people's reasoning), but I don't want it to be Tyson. I can't justify pulling for someone that bit someone's ear off, knocked a referee down to go after a dazed boxer, has been accused of countless crimes due to his rage, etc. etc. etc (there's much more that I could go into, but....why?)...he should have been banned from boxing a long time ago.....

Jabs cheap punches? Thats how you box. He won because he boxed instead of going for the ko. A good boxer never stops jabbing, because it keeps the other guy at bay. If you don't jab, then you're open to power punches.
