recently me and my friend put a intake cam from a altima and put it into his 240 ( 91 ).supposed hp gain was to be beteween 15 to 20 now i dont know if thats true or not but thats what ive heard.ok heres the problem.we swaped them and put new pulgs and wires on while we were putting the cam in and after its back to top dead center and everything is put back together the car wont start.so at this point we start to toubleshoot.when we were puting the in cam in i put my torque rench down on the battery by mistake and sparks started flying.so we thought that we might have blown a fuse but we checked all the fuses that we could see and they were fine, so we thought maybe its the distributor cuz the car would not fire.so we replaced the cap and rotor.still nothing!so we changed the coil ,still doesnt start.so im out of ideas and i need your help!!any thing that you need to know that i left out just tell me and ill post it thanks guys.

Well I had a simaler problem for about a year.  I actually had a bad Clutch Relay.  The reason it was so hard to diagnose was that the problem would actually cause my car to stall while driving.   So for a year I thought i had to remove my alarm NOT beleiveing that a rely would not allow my car to start, not allow no SPARK to the distributer becuase   I had bypassed the Clutch realy and the car would start but very badly, lots of turning of the ignition.  I bought the 17.00 part and the car started like a champ.  My point being "Check the relays"

Fastest way I have found for doing a diagnosis for a car that won't start.  Plug one of the plugs and see if it's getting spark.  It should jump out about an inch I believe (been a while since I had to do this).  If it does, pull the fuel line before and after the fuel filter.  Turn the key over and fuel should shoot out (If it doesn't, then you will either have a bad fuel pump, or a bad filter).  Also, is the car turning over at all, or just clicking....more details as to what it is doing.

this may sound dumb, but i didnt see  in your first post that you checked the battery, it might be the battery. just a thought

i dont know if our cars have them but when u laid the torque wqrench on the battery u might have burned the voltage regulator.
