this has been an on going problem for some time, how ever it goes aaway for a few months and comes back.

it happened this past winter and now it's back, my temp gauge goes loony and jumps to the H then a quarter ways back down and hoovers there.

now i'm gonna drain and refill my coolant, cause it burnt my hand when i was putting soem in the other day, and it seems to be very full, but i havent put any in in several months.

any suggestions, or will it likely be solved by flushing it

try that and look at the thermostat.

Are you certain that your temp gauge is even accurate? Don't go by what the gauge reads. If you have no air pockets in your cooling system, new thermostat, water pump, etc, you shouldn't have cooling problems.

Pickup an FSM and do the diagnosis on the temp gauge. Don't remember off the top of my head, but isn't there a coolant temp sensor sitting on top of the intake manifold?
