Hey all you ghey guys:ghey:haha. I know you've all heard of the disco potato Gt28RS, well have you seen the ones that are being sold by SSAutoChrome? Are those legit, reliable turbos? I've heard both good and bad about that company and just want some opinions for myself. I would want to run that on my SR (has basic bolt on shiatz that cost a pretty penny). It says it has the flange to fit the stock manifold and extension for the oil lines. I was wondering, can you set the actuator to less than the 12-16 psi it says its set to w/ a manual boost controller and it be reliable? Would it even be smart to run this turbo on my SR at low boost ( I was thinking 9-10 daily driver ). Would this be detrimental to my engine's longevity in anyway (because of the larger turbo and all). Would it be safe to run 9-10 psi? What about their manifolds? I heard that theyre made by the same company as Megan Racing. Thanks guys, for helping me out once again.

oh yeah, and I know I'd have to run the Z32 MAF...do you have to mess w/ your ECU w/ that shit?

no a manual boost controller can NOT turn boost down past what the ctuator is set at.
yes you either need a rom tune or an SAFC to use the Z32 mafs.

stay away from ssautochrome turbo (XSPower).. i have installed them on cars and 95% them need rebuild after 1 month of regular driving aprox 1500miles.. their manifolds crack on the dyno
my customers buy them on ebay for dirt cheap.. the usually have to spend the money twice

Not only will you need a maf but youll need bigger injectors. Stock 370s are only good for 300whp at 4bar fuel pressure(stock 3bar). Dont go cheap on the turbo. Ive seen ebay turbos fall apart, as in glued housings and what not. Center shafts that break and shoot oil all over, etc etc. Stick to a real garret or whatever. You have to think about what your power goals are and what you plan on doing with the car and find a turbo that fits your needs with the appropriate fuel setup.

I would read this page before buying an ssautochrome turbo:
http://www.bblgroup.us/ssautochrome.htm
guy had his turbo housing break in two after 30 miles because it was just epoxied together.

It's not the same company as megan and I'd look at the GT2871r instead of the 28rs.

ok, guy ended up selling the T25 >: ( Meaning Im looking for one :D . Can you fit a GTi-R T28 onto the SR w/out having to modify anything (oil/water lines, etc.)
also, what about a Bluebird T25 or a GT-R T28? I want to slap it on, and do no modifications...need it running already!

Simple answer: No for all of them.
They can be made to work, but modifications need to be made (clocking, piping, etc).

Very impressive....+2000....
Totally different companies...SSAutochrome knocks off everybody from HKS to Megan Racing...

nevermind that they had their bottom mount manifold for the SR out BEFORE megan... or that they started making the KA manifolds...
I've YET to have a problem with my SSA equipment. I know several people that have had zero problems with theirs as well.
