Nice work. I just looked at a Silvia with a n/a 2.2 Tomei built SR. I really had no respect for n/a SRs until I drove it myself. Pulled hard and had no qualms about revving out repeatedly...

nice work on the fwd to rwd na setup, have you ran this yet,how are you going to cool this baby,or will that not be a problem with 12 -1 comp

I havent had cooling problems yet, been up to 13.5-1 and not had many problems, as long as the radiator is decent.
Make no mistake in not a huge NA guy, my S14 has a pretty mean built DET in it, my customer wasnt alowed to run boost in his class, besides 240hp in a 1100lbs car should be pretty awsome :)

yes Caterham/ Lotus 7, Same thing pretty much
I have another one im building for a street lotus 7 with a similar motor to my S14, im a bit worried because my S14 runs 11's full weight.
Two questions:
Any chance of using the same process to make an SR20VE RWD?
What's a Sentra STi?

yes you could but why? the VE isnt that great, VET is nice :) not any better than a DE or DET with a set of HKS's

Ve's arent that great?
I dont how they get down in chicago or africa but all the VE's I have personally seen have really suprised me for the amount of work they had done

Ive worked on probably 30 or 40 VE and a few VET's
They are nice stock, but they dont take well to being modified, the loverly cam operation they use doesnt support higher HP levels very well
They are much like the S14/15 DET's the VVT is great till you get to a certain point then you toss it and run without it, pitty you cant toss what limits the VE at higher RPM points, yes there have been a few very high HP Ve's but work out how much went into them VS. what you actualy get out, you can make the same hp on a DE cheaper.

Can you indulge us as to how much something like that costs?

I might not be getting something but why convert it from FWD to RWD when you have the option of using a RWD SR20DE?
-Ren
because the class of racing that his customer was in does not allow turbo's, and a N/A FWD sr20 is readily available vs a rwd N/A sr20 is my guess

exactly, its very hard to find RWD SR20DE's in South Africa, FWD's are dime a dozen, I wanted to use a DET and just leave the turbo out of the of the picture but they are 5-6 times more than a DE,

just wondering, but what was required to convert it?

if you use the RWD upper oil pan you only need to fabricate up 3 mountings on the intake side of the motor, but first you have to machine off the old starter mounting and lower bell housing extention off the FWD block.
