Hey. I have a KA24E engine, (90 240sx). Where the hell is this thing. been look for almost an hour and cant find it!

Also, could this little thing cause carbon/black smoke to come out the exhaust if its bad ? in any way?

well, we have the same exact car so I can tell u from experience. First buy the peice so U can know what ur looking for.
Then, go to the left side of the engine(opposite where the spark plugs are) and ull find it connected to a hose, just some pliers or some shit and yank off the hose and then unscrew the PCV and put in the new one. There u go, took me less than 10 minutes.

Yea. I know what it looks like. Can you give a little better description where it is? I mean, I bought it... and still cant identify it by looking.

Where is it exactly? In location to the oil filter maybe? Or by the gas filter?

Thanks.

P.S. was there a performance difference?
Thanks again.

well, the PCV valve is directly opposite where the spark plugs are(sorry if I repeated this but I'm telling, this is where it is) . So it is to the right of the fuel filter, and above the oil filter. All u would probably see would be a little peice of the metal peice. You cant see the thread until u start unscrewing it. Remember, just look for something a little silverish in the spot I just told u about. There is a little black hose, not too big in size connected to the PCV valve. There was not really a performance gain noticeable to me but if there is somethign wrong with urs, then u might be able to fix whatever problem u have. I just changed it cause I was doing a tune-up, not for any specific reason. good luck man, you'll probably be smacking yourself when you find it

Thank You. Im gonna go out there now and look for it with a flash light. Hopefully I can find it now! I dunno why, but I just cant find the damn thing!

Thanks again. I will keep you informed on my stupidity and blindness haha.

Thanks again.

Ok. I think I found it. Is it behind another relay type of hose? Its kinda hidden. Has a screw fastener clamp on the hose? I DONT see any part of the PCV valve itself. Just a black hose.

Its running parallel right below the intake?
I dont know, it looks hard to get to.

Hopefully that its. Somebody PLEASE correct me before I go through the trouble of dismantling this thing.

hi,

i just replaced my pcv valve and it just helps the engine recircluate the exhaust gases. First look at the intake manifold on the passengers sides of the car. Start from the throttle body and go towards the back of the engine going down the intake manifold where the air goes in past the throttle body. And you should see a black hose connected to the side of the intake manifold closest to the fuel injector rail and plugs. The black hose is connected to side of the intake manifold and hose is coming from the bottom of the engine. Inside that hose is the pcv valve. Loosen the hose and you will see the pcv valve partly screwed into the side of the intake mainfold in between the throttle body and the back engine compartent. Unscrew the pcv valve out and replace it with the new. Replace hose and throw away the old pcv valve.

hope it helps.

NO NO NO.. those instructions are for the DE.. On the E the PCV valve is right on top. EASY to get to. takes 5 min to change.

here it is:

Does anyone know where the PCV valve is on a 96 SE and what is the easiest way to get to it? I read a FAQ on 240sx.org but they never specify what car it was for. It looks like it is behind the trottle body under a hose connected to the radiator but I don't want disconnect it w/out making sure.
