summer was coming up and i decided to get some thicker oil since socal isnt the coolest place to be. so i ordered a case of 10w40 about a week ago. it just arrived today and i look and saw that they sent me 15w40 instead. i searched around a bit and 15w40 seems to be recommended for diesel engines. anyone think i will have problems just using this oil in my RB? i mean there's only a 5 weight difference, but the whole diesel thing worried me a bit. i think i might be okay, just wanted to get some opinions.
thanks

i used 15w-40 in my turbo KA last summer. hotter climates need thicker oil to protect your engine.

the 40 is the weight of the oil the. When there are two numbers (like 15 and 40) that just means it's a multi weight oil and the w means that it can be used in cooler climates. The 15 and 10 are how low of a temp they can go before they get too thick to run in an engine. Here in Utah in the winter, I use 5w30 since is gets below freezing. I can get away with using 10w30 but on cold mornings, the engine has a harder time starting.
