Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the ECU in a 90 hatchback specifically the speed limiter wires.  i need to go faster than 115. i have heard that a toggle switch on the right wire will kill the govoner but i need to know which wire?  help me please!

Where?

IIRC, there are no US speed limits above 75 anymore (even MT). &nbsp; That means that you can cruise at 40 mph over the limit. &nbsp;Isn't that enough?

Your car can't get up to those speeds in a 1/4.

Until you do some serious tuning, you won't see those speeds on a road course.

I certainly hope you aren't planning on doing those speeds on a public road?

hipposleek,
If you have the diagram please pm me w/ it or be nice and poste it for MaedhroS13 to do as he wishes! &nbsp;I need it so i can go above 5000rpms. &nbsp;I still can't figure out why it does this, but for a temperary fix i would like to disengage the rev limiter! &nbsp;Any help is appreciated!

a) I don't have it
b) I wouldn't post it for the reasons stated above
c) It is widely available for the motivated
d) It sounds like your ECU is in safe-mode. &nbsp;Have you checked for a code? &nbsp;Go to 240sx.org, find out how to read the code, get the code, refer it to one of the sites w/ online code info (or go here or FA and ask), and determine what is causing the car to run in safe mode. &nbsp; You don't want to just bypass this system w/o finding out what's wrong... it could cost you a lot of money in the long run.

hey wow, I thought I was going to be in the midst of a flame war with my reply to MaedhroS13, glad there's someone else on the same page as me Hippo <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

For both MaedhroS13 and MarketPlayer, if you're bound and determined to do this, the only way to do it &nbsp;right is to send your ECU to Jim Wolf and have the folk there reprogram it for you, you'll also get a decent HP gain when you get it back, not just removal of the limiter.

yeah send out your ECU..... also..... plz dont hit over 120mph on public roads..... sure i have done it but at those speed u can easily kill yourself and others......

the only thing i hate it is &nbsp;RPM limiter but i guess if it wasnt there, stupid me would blow the engine.... so there is a reason for everything...... and when i can run (afford) my engine over the red line then i could also afford to get a reprogrammed ECU

I really hope your not gona go 120+ on a public road <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

the thread title is "poor people need speed too" so judging from that i somehow don't think he will be sending his ecu away to jwt to have them program it...

Hmm... well by that method of thinking, he definitely wouldn't have the mods to drive safely at that speed. &nbsp; Therefore shouldn't be surpassing the speed limiter.

IIRC, there was a topic about removing youur limiter. you cut one of the wires thats coming out from the computer. If you're not lazy, look back at all the topic and you'll find one.
If you're lazy, cut either the yellow or red (or it could of been some other color)wire.

I DON'T remember which one to cut so please do not take the risk If you like your 240SX.

Wow Hippo I'm sure glad your policing our roadways. What would we do without you.

Cheap speed?

Go steal a shopping cart from your local Wal-mart. &nbsp;Make sure it rolls well. Don't want a wheel to start wobbling at 120+mph. &nbsp; Then go to a surplus store and buy a couple of rockets and mount them on the side. &nbsp;Hop in, light them suckers off and hold on!

And for the love of God please where a helmet. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

i wasn't going to post but the more i thought about it, i had to add my .02 cents.

This is a forum for automotive enthusiasts to gather and share knowledge. we have drag racing people, autoxers, and streetracers. just because you are one and not the other doesn't mean you should withhold info. i'd rather see correct info passed than have this guy/girl cutting the wrong wire and jacking up his ride.

sorry, but I wanted MaedhroS13 to look back at all the topics everyone has talked about so he wont ask the same question?
When I joined, I went back and looked through all the topics (I think 86 pages) before I asked the first question.

Anyways, this is true. There has been a topic about this and some one has posted which wire to cut so the limiter goes off.

Well, not that I have to explain myself to you, but I am feeling magnanimus today. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

1. &nbsp; It is entirely my perogative to withhold information. &nbsp; If I went to any board, I would expect people to tell me only what they felt like telling me. &nbsp;I am not contractually or otherwise obligated to share my knowledge.

2. &nbsp; The requested information would result in illegal conduct. &nbsp; While some of you may not give a rat's a$$ about the law, I try to follow it. &nbsp;I have a cat, I don't disobey noise laws, I don't speed beyond the flow of traffic, and I don't pull stunts that put other people's lives in danger. &nbsp; If you don't like how I live, let me know. &nbsp;I care.

3. &nbsp;I agree with the reasons Yoshi outlined for why it wouldn't be wise to tell someone how to break the law. &nbsp;Further, because this information is so easy to find, you must either be an idiot or lazy not to find it on your own. &nbsp;Personally, I don't want a slow, slacker pressing his skills on the same roads I drive.

4. &nbsp;Tex - thank you! &nbsp;Every little bit helps.

5. &nbsp;Rabbit - see responses #1 & 2 above. &nbsp;Additionally, I do not condone "streetracing" and would do whatever I could to stop it. &nbsp; As mentioned in my original reply, there is no other justification offered for cutting this wire. &nbsp;I'd rather see this guy keep it safe than risk "jacking up his ride." &nbsp;I don't think he would start willy-nilly cutting wires without something to go on.

Your pal,
Mark

oh well guys...I don't even need the information any more. &nbsp;I was cruising w/ some friends and tried to go past 5000rpms, and to my amazement i can go all the way to 6800 now!
