damn, i've always loved 944 Turbo's (951's). If I wasn't shipping out on the 26th and live across the country I'd be all over that. Good luck with the sell and free bump :D

my dd is an audi 5000 turbo and i know at least on my car atmospheric pressure is 1 bar so my car with a chip and spring runs like 1.8 bar which is about 11-12 psi

1 bar = 14.50psi, bump for the sweet car.

Yep. Audi 5000 with a chip and stifferend wastegate spring will push 1.8 bar without much drama. Porsche engines are a bit more performance oriented, so even higher pressures are possible. A turbocharged german car with upped boost is something you have to drive to appreciate. KKK K26 powuhhh!!!

I was looking at the hp figures for this car, and stock hp is rated at around 220-227 hp...which isn't all that impressive. Looks nice nonetheless though!

Also rated at 2600~ lbs. Which is about the same as a 240sx base model coupe.
It's power to weight.

As a previos 951 owner/enthusiast, you are quite a bit wrong on your boost settings. No 951 is running 36lbs, or anywhere close. The stock guage reads no vacuum, all boost pressure. At 1 bar on the stock guage, you are just leaving vacuum and going into boost. At 2 bar on the guage you are at about 14psi. On any 951 I have ever rode in with an aftermarket guage shows the stock guage to be pretty far off. The guage also stops at 2 bar, goes no further, so to say you are at 2.5bar is completely guessing. Provided you do have it jacked up to 18psi, do you have any supporting modifications. Widefire headgasket? Stock headgasket is known to fail at or above 15psi. Stock 32lb injectors? What is tuning the MAF, and who was it purchased through? Any pictures of the option codes listed in the back on the rear shock tower? LSD? There is a lot that you lacked, and just becuase this is a 240 forum doesn't mean there are 951 enthusiasts.
Take from my experience to never buy a Porsche, 951, 944, 911, anything without a thorough pre purchase inspection. It will cost you ~$100, but it will save you a lot of problems down the road. 951's are pretty decent cars other than being 80's turbo Porsches, but they do have their weaknesses. Control arms persay the bushings go out are about $450 each...and you CAN'T find them cheaper. A good friend just bought a 951 with a rebuilt engine, roughly about 10k miles on it. Never boosting past 14psi with the 18psi chip, ported head, widefire gasket, everything done...spun a rod bearing just driving. I hope that gives a little better idea of what you can expect.
Otherwise its a great price for a great car. Many good mods that make a world of difference. 86 was a good and bad year...you get an airbagless car which is a bit lighter, but you don't get the updated wheel hubs to fit most generic Porsche wheels. There are a lot of parts to watch out for..underpanels which are very functional are about $250-$300 second hand. For what it is worth, the highest HP 951 in the country is about 550whp.
