View Full Version : Gauging Interest: Custom aluminum hotpipes

I've received a good amount of emails from people who have asked about making them a hot pipes and such.
I'm just trying to see if there's anyone else interested so I can see if it's worth putting together a group buy of some sort.
No pics yet, you all know what hotpipes look like ;)
Made of aluminum, one piece, these will be polished after all the welding is done.
Hotpipes will have either HKS or Greddy flanges. Possibly add more options for flanges down the road.
These are custom, so if you need any more fittings (ie: boost) it can be added for cheap.
Both S13 and S14 hotpipes will be offered
I cant put pricing here, but these will be offered below the big name standard prices.

otherwise, id like to keep this thread strictly for hotpipes, i'd like to know how many people would be interested in one.

i bought a heavy throttle steel pipe that's pretty nice...but if you could offer these cheaper and aluminum with welded flanges and wastegate nipples....people will buy!
you'd also probably have to worry about different intercooler setups as well...

Yeah it would have welded flanges and wastegate fitting options. Ill be looking into offering these a bit cheaper than ones you would find elsewhere. (That is if it's turned into a group buy).
These are made by the standard design (stock), one piece. These will fit just like stock.
Anybody else?

Not quite sure yet, probably soon if I see theres enough interest to put up a group buy.
Im just trying to get a feeler for what people need. Doesn't necessarily have to be hotpipes (well, except this thread) but im trying to get ideas.

I might be interested. If it mimicked the routing of the stock SR20DET hotpipe, that is; I had hood-clearance issues with the Enjuku setup I was using before. What I mean is keeping the pipe as low in the engine bay as possible.
I would want a Greddy flange and a wastegate nipple, myself. Would it be supplied with couplers/clamps, the way your intake pipes are? (BTW, still very pleased with the one I got a few months ago)
Tentative pricing would also be useful...

Hey,
Glad you're still happy with the intake!
As for the hotpipe, it will be a direct swap with the stock hotpipe to minimize clearance issues. I cant really put an exact price here, but my goal is to keep it below $130 shipped (with BOV flange + wastegate bung) may offer it a bit cheaper with just BOV flange or vice versa. Again, this is just a tentative price. Depends how much interest there is.
Oh and im going to try to add couplers/clamps etc. Although my main goal in this is to keep the price down to offer a bit cheaper alternative.

I'd definately be interested in one, but I'd need it asap. I bought an intake pipe from you (very nice by the way), and still need to get the hotpipe. So if you wanna make one for me to show people what it would look like, I'd buy it, even if you didn't continue with the sale of them. Let me know...
Thanks

I have a question here.
The angle of the hot pipe which connects to the turbo, is it different from T25 and T28?

Hi,
Yes the T25 and T28 stock outlets are different. T25 is pretty much sticking straight up while the T28 faces at about a 45ยบ angle.

How about GT2871R compares to T28?Are there any difference on both compressor inlet and outlet?
If there is nothing different, can I use all the piping for t28 I have right now for the GT2871R?

Inlet, you'll need a new intake (which i'm actually working on too)
and the outlet, not sure about your t28 piping but i'm pretty sure you can use the stock hotpipe design, but you'll need to cut it at the end and probably get like a 45º coupler (depending on your setup) to match it up. I think thats what most people do. You should probably look up some pics
Anyone else interested in a hotpipe? The group buy will be up in about a week! And remember, these are custom so if you need any modifications to the stock pipe setup then just let me know.
