Find another shipper immediately. $1000 to ship a motorset or front clip is crazy. Most people pay is in the range of $250-$400.

The Company who you buy your clip from should have a deal worked out with a reputable shipping company IIRC I only paid 150$ worth of shipping when I got my motor from heavythrottle.com

well im looking at an r33 front clip and the dimensions are 72x72x50 and weight is around 1800lbs. ive called about 5 shipping companies in the last half hour and theyve all given me quotes for around1100. plus they all require the clip to be crated and the company im getting the clip from doesnt crate them. they just ship them on a palet.

oh yeah the clip also has all the body panels, suspension, and brakes so it is a bit heavier than just the clip shell and motor.

i hope your trying to ship it to a business, residences are usually more.

haha mine was shipped from central transport. as far as reputable i cant say very much. I had my engine shipped one day about two and a half years ago, (wow how time flys) and i sit at the terminal with my bosses pickup for about an hour, the guy comes back and says effectively, "we lost it, We will call you when we find your engine sir" so im drivin around the next day and i get a call from HOME DEPOT!!!, guy goes "hey this is blaibhbha from recieving, i got an engine with your name all over it." this was about 30 miles away, so i get there and then its sittin back there in their recieving department, they get it on a reach truck and drag it through the whole store, I was laughing my ass off, i wish i had pics of it. but i was also extremely pissed, and they wouldnt refund me a dime on shipping, but it was only 25o from florida to michigan. not bad. How ironic, i now work for home depot and still cant understand how they would have accepted the shipment in the first place, shit happens i guess.

hah thats a pretty crazy story. was yours a clip or just the motor? im buying a clip so i know its gonna cost more than shipping a motorset. also, for what it costs extra to have it delivered to my house its worth it. its like 100 bucks more but i can have it come to my house and into my garage. if i were to ship it to a business id have no way to get it to my house.

call heavy throttle and other places too see who they use. they shipped my motorset on a pallet to my front door(well, it was a big tractor trailer and he dropped in off at the bottom of my driveway since my driveway is 1/2 mile long) for $300 and that was fla. to west virginia, so i'm guessing a clip shouldnt be much more. even if its double the price, still better than $1000

yeah, well im gonna try to get my uncle to haul it for me. he drives a semi truck but i hate to burden him with that. it just sucks though because im already gonna be in debt for the motor, id hate to be 1000 dollars deeper just for shipping the damn thing.
