Does any1 have any pics of this exhaust on their cars. I really need to see what it looks like, and i've searched and not found one damn pic of it.

HKS and Apexi are as common as they get. If you want to be different go with a nice high flow muffler with custom piping.

i've already ordered it, i just ment all of my friends have the n1 so i wanted something different than them. I just wanted to see a s13 with this exhaust on it, ive only been able to find s14's.

Bleh, that exhaust is quieter than any N1 style exhaust that Apex'i sells.

Not the greatest pic, but gives you an idea of what it looks like with a kit. Ohhhh and I never washed it because I liked it dirty.

Quick question, is the Hi Power in the pics the 65mm piping for NA or is it the 85mm for Turbo version?

I'm about to order one for my 95 240sx but not sure if I should go for the 85mm one even though I run a NA. I don't want it to be loud like most of the 3' piping exhausts on NA but I noticed that the Hi Power has a resonator, so I was wondering if that would make a difference in the sound.

yes they are dt05s 16x7.5 front 16x8.5 rear 20 offset polished. yea ill let you know. or pm me always up for a good offer and they are 4 lug.. my exhaust is the 85mm one kinda loud on na but wheb turboed, its gonna be quietier.

Go with the 85mm one, it will benefit you in the long run, I had the 65mm with a SR and it was QUIET! You couldn't even tell I was running an aftermarket exhaust. I wanted a 3" exhaust so I sourced one and bought it.

I switched to a GPSports Spec-D 3" and it was rediculously loud, now I'm running a stock exhaust with a 3" QuickTimePerformance cutout on my downpipe....

Hey bk S14

I installed the 65mm HKS HiPower on my 96...

It may not be all that loud on a turbo car, but NA w/ headers and free-flow cat it sets off car alarms. Seriously! Extremely deep, agressive sound, cool burble at idle and looks very nice on S14 IMNSHO

Edit: I don't have the silencer installed in the muffler, so YMMV

Hey Gearhead 42,
Thanks for the reply! So it does come with removable silencer? I'm assuming both the 65mm and 85mm would right?

richardxfeng
03-30-2006, 05:30 PM
The Hi Power don't come with silencer in any version. You need to buy it separatly.

Gearhead_42
03-30-2006, 06:45 PM
Yah, richard said it. No silencer included, but it is drilled for the bolt that holds t in.

got mine today :) very deep, specially for a 3in on a NA KA24DE. Only problem is that my high flow cat has a leak where we welded the new flange on, so that's making it slow and louder. I'll take some pics of it later tho...

Hey PUNXVA,

If you could, would you mind getting a sound clip of the exhaust?
1. Starting the car
2. Idle
3. Revving

Sorry for asking for so much but I live in a neighborhood where people are anal about noise - especially late at night... which is when I'm in and out.

If you could, it would definately help me out a lot. Thanks in advance.

Did you guys notice that there was a strange vibrating noise after he reved it. It sounded like a anying squeak is that because the exhaust hangers are old? The reason is that my exhaust is making that noise but that only when I start the car first.

punxva
03-31-2006, 08:38 PM
yeah i think its my hangers.

03-31-2006, 08:53 PM
ok nvm i watched my movie and realized, its the timing chain, my new engine is about to be dropped in so it's all cool. bK_S14, no problem bro, hope this helps u to decide on your exhaust choice.

yah with some exhausts. you either hang the bang the tow hook to sit higher, or simply cut it away so it doesn't shake against the exhaust and make an impression on it. Also if you want the ehaust to sit higher in the rear, unbolt the bracket that the rubber hangers hold on to, with a rubber mallet flatten the brackets just a lil (no more then half an inch) when you put the exhaust on, it sits super snug and fit and doesn't shake, rattle, and roll.

BTW. I couldn't help with the offset remark. It was too easy.

That rattle is definitely the timing chain. Mine makes the same noise. Anyway, here is my Hi Power. It sounds bad ass but after a few trips from San Diego to LA, its gets a little old. Still worth it though. I went with 85mm because I plan to turbo it. I can vouch for the setting off car alarms though. Thats easy.
