First of...this is just a venting post and trying tomorrow to get a new one.

1. Drain plug has gasket material on it (probably stripped and some jackass put on red liquid gasket...i torched it and still no budgy

2. Fill plug has the red gasket material but it just about rounded off (not by me)...

OK now I'm sweating....

3. Pull out the driveshaft that was cut from clip and holy fountain of youth (tranmission oil gushing out all over the floor)

4. Wiring is cut like a mofo....

5. Shifter is loud and clutch fork has play in the direction it shouldn't and there is no clutch fork boot

I'm going to bitch tomorrow and try to get another....sorry about the rant

Zilvia.net isn't a grievance forum so I don't think you'll get much love here; however, I feel you. It seems more and more people are getting ripped off as far as car parts go.

Where are all the trusting people in the industry at? At any rate good luck!

well i got it with my S15 SR20 which is in perfect condition, but i'm going with an S14 tranny...so i probably got stuck with a left over.

oil should not gush out when i take out the driveshaft am i right??? i mean there should be an oil seal in there right?!?!?

sorry about the rant, i guess my problems were also my questions (oil seal, clutch fork play, etc)

There is an oil seal to prevent oil from leaking when the driveshaft is in. Otherwise oil is free to flow out. That is normal...

As for the hacked up bolts and the crunchy shifting, I'd say thats a potential problem.

sealant on the drain and fill is normal.
fluid will spill out if you pull the driveshaft out of a filled tranny
wiring is never intact unless it was agreed before that it would be.
I don't what you mean by a loud shifter
and the clutch fork have play in all directions unless you mean the throwout bearing

it sounds normal to me

the oil seal only seats around the driveshaft. it's not internal to the transmission.

clutch fork loose is normal... in fact it's more normal for the tranny to not include the t/o bearing seat and fork at all.

get the drain bolt off with a bolt out or something. use another one.

shifting is prob crunchy because the tranny is dry...

cool thanks guys for clearing my concerns up...i'm new to the S chassis just learning as i go along...wasn't sure about a few things

as for the drain bolts...if it comes down to it i'll try to use boltouts.

all sounds normal, if all else fails, you can always take the bellhousing and put it on your KA tranny
