*edit* I can't believe I did that... There - note how quick the edit came... DOH!

I've been hunting the internet today for adjustable pillow mount tension rods. I wanted the Teins (b/c they were the cheapest) but was considering the Monkey Magic and East Bear units. I found a couple local retailers that can get me the Teins (maybe in time for a track day I have pending) - but neither of these shops stocks 240 stuff. Result - they have to order them anyway.

Now, between someone on this board who owns a shop (or even people listing shops they've dealt with), it seems that we should have a list of reputable suppliers and people who support our community. Instead, I have to go to the local shops that only show interest in our cars b/c more people are buying them.

What do you guys say - why don't we make a FAQ with the names, addresses, and websites of proven performers?

BTW: anyone know of someone around here who sells Tein stuff? (no - not the lost groupbuy guy...)

You want online shops that we've had good experiances with or just local shops?  Listing local shops seems like it'd get really big really fast and only help out a few people...

What I had in mind was a little more like online shops - something we could all find.

240sx.org used to have a list like this, but it hasn't been updated since Clinton was in office so that 1/2 the listings are no longer valid!

The people that come to mind are:
pdm
phase2.motortrend
jspec
autoimaging
heavythrottle
uhh...

Actually, we really should get a list put together of import shops in every state. Possibly with an indicator as to whether there have been good or bad experiences with them.

I think i'm gonna throw a quick little application together to get a list together. I'll put a link up once it's finished.

put it in the faq, and that will solve a lto, cuz I soon might be getting an SR swap and need to start getting quotes from my area. So a list of state by state with like e-mails or phone numbers or web addresses would be good.

McKinney Motorsports is another one, I think.
Haven't done any business with them, but they're very good at answering any questions I had.
