i just got my convertible last week or so... and i want to get a rollcage, safety, able to go on track events, and stuff... anyways, does anyone have a convertible with a roll cage in it? there are so many issues, the doors are wider, so seats barely fit.
i really want a 6 point roll cage, but i can't see how you can make it fit will almost full interior... so i am thinking about 4 point... may be even convertiing the rear to a storage area and taking the seats out and just putting carbon fiber sheets to cover up all the nasty stuff?
i guess, does anyone have a setup with pics? does anyone know what convertibles need as a minimum for track play? i am taking the car in this week may be to get the manual conversion, and may be even z32 brakes... i wanna get one the track asap so i can get some real time to practice driving...

Can't go wrong with a custom cage. A good shop should be able to assist you with the clearance issues and set-up whatever you want. I don't recall seeing any bolt-in cages for convertible's. Just go custom.

custom FTW! it'll fit better and they can make it to where all you would need is a little trimming of the interioir peices for the bars to go through. that is if the builder knows how to build a decent cage

Im not an expert, but maybe on can chime in. Wouldn't it almost be essential to have this a welded in cage to minimize the horrible chassis flex of a convertable?

Any cage will help with the extra-flex of a convertible. Yea custom weld in are always going to rock better.

i am not sure... i am taking my car to g-dimension asap... they are doing my manual swap... there they said they have a rollcage guy... i forgot his name... i saw a few of their cars, come were welded and some were bolted... initial talk was a simple 6 point with no floor bars or side door bars... that way i can preserve the seats interior...
