Dont flame, just give me some friggen thoughts on this shit. Since Im only after a beefier rear sway bar, and money doesnt grow on trees, I was thinking this; Get another rear sway from the junkyard and either weld it under the stock one, or beside it. I would trim it so it sat nice and snug up agains the other one, and just stick weld the bitches together. Stiffen up I would think?

thoughts...........

it would work... but you would be welding two cylindrical bars together, it wouldn't sit very nice.

just get aftermarket if you want one.

why not just run longer bolts through the mounts and mount 2 to both the "D" mounts and the end links

that would give them the freedom to add stiffness, but not bind in their travels

either way if you stack em, you'll take an inch or so off of ground clearance right there...

UUUUUUGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH.

If you want more stiffness and you're too cheap for rear bars just drill a new hole on the sway.

Less lever arm on the bar = more roll stiffness.

If you want more stiffness than that you can take a peice of 1/4th ish sheet metal and weld it down the length of the bar inbetween the links. Thats less ghetto than taping two bars together and will get you more stiffness.

Try to visualize how a swaybar works, and you'll see why you shouldn't do this.

They work by twisting, if you stack two of them together, then one of them is going to twist and the other is going to bend, or you will effectively lock both bars, turning your rear suspension into a life axle.

Alright, so one on top of the other is out of the question. Side by side then. Do what now with the drilling Mcrussslepants?? I think Ill try it out, wont cost me anything....so why not? Thanks for input.

thats the SAME THING

look at the largus bars. They have 3 holes in the front. If you lessen the leverage you increase the roll stifness.

Nah brotha....its not the SAME THING.

s13? get rear sway from HICAS 91+ fastback SE model.
Change endlinks to solid endlinks.

I have a jap s13 though, I think the sway bar is bigger than the hicas sway anyway.

nope^ same unless its a hicas sway

JDM S13 rear sway bar = USDM S13 HICAS rear sway bar

I have one. Made a lot of difference. It was $25 + shipping.

Weld a solid bar.

You cannot weld 2 sway bars together. Sway bars are tempered just like springs. Heat them up (by welding etc) and they are as useless as a spaghetti noodle.

Spaghetti noodle = useful when put together with its familay of 1,000 and you proceed to eat them with Ragu sauce.

I love how you ask for our opinions, we tell you don't do it, and you still do it anyways... HAHAHA

hoooorah.....until the heat isue was mentioned, I was gonna do it...cause it wouldnt cost me shiat! But yea, thats a valid point..... but seeing as I have like 8 sway bars kicking about in the neighborhood, I might as well still give it a shot anyway.

Best Idea Ever.

This doesn't make a bit of sense. I don't think you understand how a sway bar works. And everybody has told you it would be a bad idea. And you asked for our opinion. And you are still going to do it.

Well, fine. Go do it. And then come back here and tell us how it went.

If you aren't going to listen to logic when you ask for opinions, then don't bother posting anymore questions, please.

Nah brotha....its not the SAME THING.

I may be wrong, but dont sway bars twist? the sway bar is cylindrical, it doesnt matter where you put it, it will still act the same way.

when you rotate an o, you get an o.
when you rotate an 8, you get a oo. therefore it won't work.

i think it would produce best results if he zip ties them together, that way he might even be able to do 3 sway bars.

Just weld lock your shocks by welding the rod to the casing...it makes for an uber stiff ride yo

Just stick a piece of metal pipe there.

That way he won't even have to use the welder.
